Three GoodGymers came to cheer on the Junior Parkrunners on what looked like a rather wet and misty Sunday in Odd Down.
It soon brightened up and drizzle turned to mizzle for the 92 young athletes taking on the 2k circuit along with the marshals, including Mary Caudle, Tanya Lock and myself.
We supported those taking part with high fives, claps and words of encouragement. It must have worked because at least one person finished the course in less than six minutes.
We’re already looking forward to the next in two months time - why don’t you join us?

Four cheery Goodgymmers arrived not long after sunrise on a damp January morning to help marshal the Brickfields Park parkrun. We donned hi-viz and were briefed by run director Andy before carrying our signs, first aid kit (happily not needed) and turnaround cone along to our various positions on the course. Once the parkrun was underway we cheered on the runners and walkers, helping to keep everyone on track while enjoying the lovely community spirit always to be found at parkrun! There were 247 finishers today but the event couldn't have gone ahead without the 36 volunteers! We'll be returning again soon, hope you can join us next time!

A few GoodGym members came online to do online yoga.
Yoga talk
One of the most overlooked benefits of yoga for runners and for life is how it trains you to stay relaxed while something feels uncomfortable. Holding a steady pose while the legs shake or the breath tightens isn’t about pushing harder; it’s about softening just enough to stay present. That skill transfers directly to running when a hill feels endless, or to life when things feel tense or uncertain. Yoga quietly teaches you that discomfort doesn’t always mean danger sometimes it’s just a moment asking for patience rather than force.
