Lambeth Report written by Yianny (he / him)
What a night! GoodGym Lambeth were back out in force for one of our favourite combos: a proper graft followed by a proper social.
The dream team of Fi, Ben, Katie, Tilly, Michael, Jo, task owner Nicole, and the brilliant Naomi from HTC assembled, ready to take on whatever the evening threw at them. ๐ช๐ผ
(A special shoutout to Adam, who had to pull out with an injury before the fun began โ wishing you a speedy recovery, mate! Weโll keep a weed-pulling glove warm for you. ๐งค)
The Task: Holy Weed-moley ๐ฑ๐ค Tonightโs mission took us to the vicarage, where the garden had clearly been taking its vows a little too seriously โ specifically the vow of uncontrolled growth. Weโre talking weeds. Weeds upon weeds. A veritable congregation of weeds. If weeds could form a church, this wouldโve been their cathedral. ๐ฟโช
Our lot got stuck in with the kind of righteous enthusiasm that frankly the clergy would approve of. Pulling, digging, bagging โ the whole holy trinity of garden clearance. By the time we were done, the vicar could actually see the garden again. We didnโt quite part the sea of greenery, but we gave it a very good go. Check out the pics for proof! โค๏ธ๐ธ
The Social: What Do You Meme? (More Like What Do You SCREAM) ๐ฑ๐คฉ Post-weeding, the team descended on the Tulse Hill Hotel for the monthly social, where What Do You Meme? was unleashed upon an unsuspecting group of tired volunteers. Reader, it did not stay innocent for long.
Michael appeared to have some kind of mystical connection to the card deck, pulling out banger after banger like a comedy magician. ๐ช Tilly, meanwhile, finally โ finally โ broke her duck and claimed a well-deserved round win (the crowd went appropriately wild ๐). Nicole made a late surge to the finish with all the energy of someone whoโd spent the evening battling overgrown weeds and still had gas in the tank.
As for the female sanitary products, we have agreed collectively to never speak of this again.... An absolutely brilliant evening all round. Weeds vanquished, memes survived, community strengthened. This is what GoodGym Lambeth is all about. ๐โโ๏ธ๐
See you next time โ and Adam, get well soon! ๐โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ You had to be there. On reflection, perhaps itโs better that you werenโt. ๐ซฃ

Hackney Report written by Dan Dunn (He/ him)
Great to be back at Nightingale Estate for this special session for the launch of our Workout for the Future Campaign. We were joined by Deputy Mayor Mete Coban, who visited to see the impact of GoodGym's work in the local community. And welcome to new runners Gemma and Suzi
It started with Denzel , Dan, Louise, Katie, Robert and Ivo running 2k from Usual Objections, a running shop that provides top quality running clothes. Definitely check them out if you are in the area, you can even see the clothes being made in front of you.
After a catch up and a warm up we ran to Nightingale Estate. Cheered on by the local school kids and a nice sunny run through the Hackney streets and Hackney Downs Park.
We arrived to join our fellow GoodGymers and got introduced to the Nightingale Parklet which is an important green space for local residents on the estate. After a briefing by task owners Nicky and Alice we set off to clear weeds, tidy up the green space and some of us helped a resident clear their front garden of weeds and a metal wired fence which is a bit of an eye sore.
Deputy Mayor Mete Coban joined the team to help with trimming foliage and lifting garden waste. Good job everyone!
We ended the session hearing from residents about why these green spaces matter so much to the estate. It was a great way to kick off our new campaign.
Great job all, see you next time.

Lambeth Report written by Yianny (he / him)
What a Tuesday evening! While the rest of London was busy grinding to a halt (tube strikes, police incidents, and the general chaos of just existing in this city ๐ ), our GoodGym Lambeth legends were already pivoting like pros โ heading straight to the task like the well-oiled volunteer machines they are. ๐ช๐ผ
And what a team showed up! The brilliant Fi, Adam, Ben, and Katie were out in force, but the real plot twist of the evening? A surprise appearance from the one, the only, the magnificent Nicole ๐พ๐ โ or possibly her AI body double (weโre choosing to believe it was the real deal ๐ค๐).
The mission? Heading to Brixton Library to join the wonderful Annick, her friend Anouck, and the Friends of Brixton Library for an evening of weeding, watering, DIY and general sprucing up of the outdoor spaces. Think of it as a glow-up, but for a library. ๐ ๐ฑ
Armed with trowels, determination and an impressive collective tolerance for getting their hands dirty, the team got stuck in โ pulling up weeds, giving the plants a much-needed drink ๐ง and making the whole space look lovely since being absolutely overdue for some love. (See what we did there? Itโs a library. ๐ Weโll see ourselves out.)
The results? Stunning. The vibes? Immaculate. The puns? Clearly unstoppable.
Check out the pics โ the space looked absolutely incredible by the end, and itโs all thanks to this lot โค๏ธ๐ฑ๐คฉ
Big love to Annick, Anouck and the Friends of Brixton Library for having us โ we had the best time and canโt wait to come back! ๐
Until next time, Lambeth! ๐๐โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
