What a Tuesday evening to be alive — and running! We had a gloriously large group join us tonight, with perfect weather rolling out the red carpet for our feet. Lacing up alongside regulars Fi, Jo, Michael, Ben, Tilly and Katie, we were thrilled to welcome back Rich and — making his Lambeth group run debut — the legendary George! 🍾💪🏼 First run done, George. There’s no going back now.

With an extra spring in our step (and an extra 3.6km each way to justify the post-run snacks 😅), we set off on a slightly longer route than usual — and the group ate it up like it was nothing.

Our destination? The Weir Link, who were absolutely delighted to have us back. And honestly, the feeling was mutual — because when we arrived, the tools and equipment were already waiting for us in the bin shed, like a beautifully organised welcome gift. No faff, no fuss — just straight to the good stuff. 🙌

Front and back, we got stuck in clearing out weeds and leaves to give the centre grounds a proper spruce-up. The weeds didn’t stand a chance against this lot. What they thought was job security turned out to be a very short-term contract. 😂🌱

Big love to everyone who came out and gave their evening — and their knees — to make Lambeth a little greener. The Weir Link were over the moon to have us, and it shows just how much this community cares. ❤️

What better way to kick off the monthly social than with a sweeping success? 🌟 A magnificent seven — Fi, Adam, Michael, Ben, Nicole, Katie, and Jo — descended on Holy Trinity, ready to make the orchard garden the belle of the bower. 💪🏼🍾

With Nicole, Adam, and Naomi on home turf to lead the charge, the crew got straight down to business in the orchard garden, where weeds had been living rent-free for far too long. 🌿😤 Hoes were wielded, scrapers were scraped, brooms were swept with panache, and bags were filled with the kind of righteous fury only a GoodGym volunteer can muster. Under new management: this garden. 🏡✨

It’s fair to say the team made a clean sweep of the place — leaving paths cleared, beds tidied, and the whole space looking absolutely broom-tiful. 😱🤩 Some might say it was a brush with perfection. We couldn’t possibly comment. 🧹

The orchard didn’t know what hit it — and by the end, neither did the weeds. Gone. Bagged. Swept under the rug of history. 🪣🌸

After all that hard graft, the monthly social awaited — and frankly, no one had ever earned a drink more. 🥂❤️

What do you get when you mix seven GoodGym legends, a historic windmill, and a mountain of woodchip? Pure, unadulterated mill-ificence, that’s what. 🤩

This week, Tilly, Adam, Michael, Marie-Noelle, Nicole, Katie, and the brilliant Emma descended on the Waterworks allotments to lend a hand to Annick and Jean from the iconic Brixton Windmill. ❤️ And lend a hand we did — both of them, repeatedly, with shovels.

Emma was joining us for her second ever session and her first group run — and she didn’t just show up, she showed out, bringing the extra scoop on our Million Acts of Hope crossover. Turns out we weren’t just doing good deeds — we were contributing to something genuinely huge. 💪🏼🍾 No pressure, but we may have helped save the world. Provisionally.

The task list was, shall we say, eclectic. We shovelled and shifted woodchip to lay a brand new path (the glow-up was real 😱), got stuck into some serious weeding and pruning, carefully sorted edible leaves from the compost (a surprisingly meditative experience), and rounded things off with a litter pick to leave the whole place gleaming. ✨🌿

In short: we came, we chipped, we conquered. Annick and Jean — it was an absolute pleasure. The allotment looks windmill-iant. 🌬️

What’s better than a Tuesday run? A Tuesday run where you get to haul a 110-litre water beast across South London while looking incredibly cool doing it. 😎💦

Our five-strong squad — Tilly, Adam, Dan, Marie-Noelle, and a freshly-legged Michael (back from conquering the Birmingham HALF MARATHON, no big deal 🏅) — rolled up ready to get their hands dirty for the lovely Heather from Wyck Gardens / Friends of Loughborough Park. ❤️

And dirty hands they got! The mission? Essentially full park glamour: lugging the magnificent 110-litre water tank (affectionately known as The Beast 😱) across to the park, plus a trolley groaning with watering cans — because if you’re going to water, you may as well commit. Cue the weeding, the pruning, the litter-picking, and the general act of making somewhere beautiful again. 🌸✂️🗑️

It’s safe to say Loughborough Park got the full GoodGym treatment — equal parts elbow grease and good vibes. Heather, we hope the plants know how lucky they are. 🌱🤩

What a Tuesday! The GoodGym Lambeth crew descended on the Woodlawns Centre armed with rakes, good vibes, and apparently a keen eye for unexpected discoveries. 👀

Fi, Ben, Patrick (welcome back, stranger! 🎉) and the fully-restored Adam — back to his best like a freshly serviced lawnmower — showed up ready to make a difference for The Lunch Club Streatham, who use Woodlawns for half their service days. ❤️

These are the people feeding the community, so the least we could do was make sure their garden isn’t a leafy, twiggy obstacle course.

And boy, did we deliver. We’re talking many. MANY. bags of leaves — composted, not binned, because we’re environmentally virtuous like that 🌱.

Litter was picked. Twigs were sorted (yes, twig sorting is a skill and yes, we have it). The pathway was cleared to a standard that would make a Chelsea Flower Show judge weep with joy. 😭🌸

But the highlight? Nestled amongst the foliage like a peculiar nature reserve exhibit: one twin pack of unopened condoms. 😱 We will not speculate. We will simply note that the garden is clearly a space full of life and possibility. 🤩

The Woodlawns garden is now ready for everyone to enjoy — which is the whole point, isn’t it? Community spaces, cared for by communities. That’s what we’re about. 💪🏼🍾
