Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Norwich runner
At 6:30pm they arrived at Eaton park, The 1st of July it was light (not dark),
Stuart Beard was there an Eaton park friend, Then 9 Goodgymmers upon the bandstand did descend.
A 100 balloon was gifted to Stephen, Many a good deed done, this one even,
Elizabeth spoke of her lockdown hair troubles, Emma and Steve arrived - (in their own bubble).
We posed for a photo - socially distant, But together in mindset and litter picking equipment,
Gladly set off in groups of three, To find some litter in a hedge or a tree.
We found litter a plenty including caps Corona, Some doggy poo bags and some coca- cola,
Oasis, Cigarette butts and sweetie wrappers, a few piles of doggy doo - we don't touch that c**p Urgh!!
Got thanked by some strangers, walking their dog, Who delighted in saying we were doing a good job,
A ramble around the park with rubbish bag in hand, Making our way back towards the bandstand.
Bex scrambled deep into some branches, Came out doing some delighted litter pick dances,
Jonathan filled his bag and it was taken by the wind, We started to pick it up all again!
Back for 7:30 and a job well done, Some leaving for home for some Catherine knobbly knee fun!
Seeing Liz in the park reminded me of parkrun Saturdays, Life has changed so fast in so many ways.
Goodgym for socials, for fitness, for fun, Lead by Steve for a collective run,
Back together but not quite the same, Looking forward to a time of being all together again.
