Goodgym had a Sloughbottom Parkrun takeover as a group run today, unfortunately Bobby, Beks (@Emrys) & myself had already committed to Catton so we attended here. 332 people ran/jogged/walked their way around a frosty, sunny park. Bobby used cones to warn everyone of a nasty icy patch, Beks was in her usual woods spot and I was token support tracing a new y volunteer giving out tokens. “If you drop tokens just leave them & carry on” I said to her before 10 minutes later I dropped 50! Easily rectified by Core team thank goodness but had to explain to disappointed runners who were amazed at their position number.

So on a very cold sunday morning, we arranged our 4th community litter pick - we were shocked when over 20 people turned up (we only had 10 litter pickers!) so people teamed up - one bag one litter pick per twosome.
We had a quick look at the 'orchard' area which we are hoping to take over the management of, to ensure that the people of Lakenham get access to the apples - currently it's hard to get to them due to nettles and brambles!
We then split up - some people onto the boardwalk, some in the orchard, and some took the path up to the church - a very large amount of rubbish was collected, and lots of cake got eaten!

The rain and windy blew most of the night but at 8.15 am it had calmed down. The course was VERY muddy in places, trail shoes were the order of the day. Beks & Emrys were in the woods, as usual where again it was muddy in place, Roisin out on the course marshalling need to be wrapped up against the elements. 177 people turned out today including some hardy first timers, very well done for turning up on a dreadful weather morning. Hardy Goodgymers running today Bill, Alina & Susanna all managed the course without a slip.
