This evening we helped Transition garden to get on top of their overgrown orchard! With the wet and sunny weather, everything has gone wild!

We didn't quite have the right tools for the jobs Trevor had planned for us, but we still got stuck in trimming back brambles and making a start on the outside hedge.

Some excellent scooping by Callum and Sevan as we went had the space looking lovely!

We're back again in a few weeks to do some more, and hopefully we can get the hedge under control!

This task supported

In February 2011, local children planted 21 fruit trees to form a Community Orchard in the overgrown tennis courts in the Lammas Enclosure, between Lammas and Walpole Parks. Volunteers from Ealing Transition have taken on the management of the area and preservation of natural habitats. The residents call on our own GoodGym volunteers from time to time when they have specific tasks that need extra pairs of hands.
