That Bloomin' Green Triangle are a group of street gardening neighbours who work hard creating beautiful growing projects on the streets of Granby. Their work is stunning! Gorgeous huge pots of plants up and down the streets turning the area into one huge garden.

They have recently branched out to expand their flower power to some litterpicking might too. However this was a bank holiday weekend and they were short of people, so they extended the invitation to our team. We were doing our monthly parkrun together that morning and would normally have gone for a (lengthy) breakfast afterwards, so I was unsure how everyone would feel swapping our much loved breakfast for a litter pick (in the forecast rain!) But our lot did not disappoint!!

After a successful morning of running and volunteering at Princes parkrun ( see or report here ) the team hotfooted to Granby Street (just a ten minute walk away) and, along with That Bloomin' Green Triangle regulars Vikky and Richard, donned gloves and litterpickers and split up around the area cleaning up all the usual rubbish. As I was making my way down one of the streets, a neighbour, Rosemarie, spotted me, grabbed her litterpicker and dashed out to join in. She told me all about the gardening projects and how lovely it was to live in the area. She really inspired me to get my own neighbours motivated to start similar projects in my area too!

At the end of the task Rosemarie kindly invited us all to pop over to the Alleyway behind her house to see the incredible work that has been done to transform the alley into a stunning and very enviable garden delight.

8 bags of rubbish later, and the weather having turned into a fresh summers morning, we all left inspired and in awe (and I bought three more pots to plant up on my street on the way home!)
