Who this task will support
Liverpool Irish Centre
The Liverpool Irish Centre is a community and social hub at the heart of the Irish community on Merseyside. Originally situated at 127 Mount Pleasant, we moved to our current location in 1999. Our mission is to promote Irish Heritage & Culture, provide a space for this to happen, and support members of the Irish Community in doing so. Not only that, we serve the wider community too and seek to bring people from all backgrounds together. The Centre serves the thriving Irish and local community, supporting a range of groups from Irish dancing, music and language to mental health awareness and well-being. The Centre promotes culture, heritage and creativity through plays, pantomimes, reading groups and partnerships with local writers and writing groups. We're keen to support the communities of Liverpool — the place that opened its door for the Irish in their time of need. We partner with local groups and communities, offer opportunities to local people and support local businesses.

Welcome to GoodGym Liverpool

We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every Monday evening to get active and do a task to help local charities, community organisations and projects across Liverpool. Some of the group run, walk or cycle to the task, some just do the task, whatever works for you!

Most Group Runs will be lead by one of our fabulous volunteer qualified Run Leaders, but watch out for ones listed as 'Social Runs' as this means no Run Leader is present but we still go out and run together keeping our 'no one left beind' GoodGym vibe in place!

The Task

PLEASE NOTE due to availability of the centre, this week's Group Run will take place on TUESDAY, not our usual Monday slot

The Liverpool Irish Centre have a huge amount of Christmas decorations to set up throughout the centre, and they've asked us to give them a hand to help get them ready for the festive period!

We recently went to help the Liverpool Irish Centre at one of their Volunteer Open Days, it was a great session in a lovely community venue and we're pleased to be able to work together with them again.

The Run

Runners will be meeting at the Suitcases on Hope Street for a 6:30pm warm up and a run to the task. What3Words: https://what3words.com/normal.shirt.builds

If you are not running you can meet at the task location for 6:55pm ready for us all to start the task together: https://w3w.co/never.kings.castle

New to GoodGym?

This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.

New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.
