Why we are supporting Cooperation Birmingham

Cooperation Birmingham are now running a Solidarity Kitchen – a food support service which takes food directly to people. This will make more people able to self-isolate without the worry of lack of food or provisions. They are daily distributing hot, hearty, healthy food from the kitchens of the Warehouse Cafe, a workers cooperative which has been closed by the coronavirus crisis. Food is prepared by professional chefs, who are trained in commercial food hygiene standards.

Now that the project is underway, we need volunteers more than ever. Cooperation Birmingham relies on participants to carry out its work during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. They have various roles that we could help with; they are looking for drivers, people to help in the kitchen, people to help with backroom and admin duties and people who can help to make masks.

How to get involved

Information for all roles can be found at https://cooperationbirmingham.org.uk/volunteer/ as well as contact email addresses and telephone numbers.
