On a bright sunny August day a group of us descended on beautiful East Farm in Dorset for a fun weekend of running for another fun White Star Running weekend. Following on from the excellent LarmaLarmer Tree Races last year, we were excited for some more irreverent running hijinks, and the weekend didn't disappoint.

After two very sparkly ladies set off the marathon, the dog half marathon got a head start on the regular runners (there were a lot of good dogs on this particular weekend). Our intrepid runners set off on 4 or 8 laps of the course with some great results for GoodGym - with Polly and Paul taking the ladies and men's half marathon titles respectively.

After a long break, during which some of us snuck off to the pub, Danica, Sarah and Dave represented us in the beer mile. All preformed admirably despite the on-course obstacles, press-up punishments and a strong urge to vomit.

Then it was finally time for the 10k - two laps of the beautiful farm at sunset, with Lucy J grabbing second lady.

Sunday was alas less sunny (it tipped it down all day) and some people snuck off home, but others hung around for the Frolic - as many laps of the farm as you could do in 12 hours, in teams ranging from one people to four people.

For GG West, Alison and Matt managed a marathon each, while Sarah and Dave gave them a break every so often and spent the rest of their time in the bar with Mary and Danica. The team finished with the third highest number of laps, an excellent achievement on such a rainy day. Meanwhile team Cambeth did a lap each before sensibly deciding to dry out, with Tom still managing the fastest lap of the course all day.

The GoodGym Portsmouth contingent was small in numbers, but mighty in strength. Tony ‘Two Poles’ walked cheerfully for 12 hours straight while Jo and Katie crushed the relay as a pair, completing 12 laps between them.

The team went to sleep in tents of varying levels of dampness (Alison had to bail hers out, while Danica swapped to a dry tent) as the gale howled around.

Monday was the Chaos race. Adults and children each had one shoe confiscated and scattered at the top of the hill. Runners had to locate their shoe before running the 3km course. All in the name of fun!

All in all another excellent weekend. See you next year White Star Running!

Amazing and loved the GG podium dominance. That chaos run sounds hilarious!
