Who this task will support
Kingsgate Student Pantry
National research as well as student survey data from the university demonstrate a need to support students, many of whom are affected by the cost-of-living pressures. This first-come, first-serve weekly pantry charges only £5 for £25’s worth of food, personal hygiene and essential household cleaning items. Feel free to pop by for a tea or coffee whilst picking up your groceries, or tune into the live healthy budget cooking demonstrations and access the optional pastoral support and signposting to additional services available.

A student foodbank has been set up to tackle hidden food poverty within the local area. Kingsgate Church identified a need to support local students and even though it has been open a couple of months it has been overwhelmingly popular showing that they can do great things to help tackle food poverty with young adults in education.

Kingsgate Student Pantry have asked us to support the initiative by doing a stock take of the food so they can better plan donations and requests for more items. If you're good at counting and moving boxes then this is the task for you!

This is a great GoodGym starter session so please come along if you want to try GoodGym and haven't already done so. We are a friendly bunch so please come and join us.

We will meet at 6.30pm at the Quaker Centre and run 2.5km to Kingsgate Church, 161a Clarence Street, KT1 1QT for 7pm. After the task we will run another 2.5km back to the Quaker Centre so please join us on any of the running to help support the January Challenge.
