THANK YOU for responding to the call for volunteers to pack boxes for the Summer Holiday Breakfast Club programme operating Monday 27th July to Friday 28th August each week community hubs & churches will be providing free breakfast and activity pack including small games to children and their families.

Who are we packing for ? The packs provide a significant programme of support available this summer for children and their families who live in Coventry who are experiencing hardship  Coventry City Council has helped to draw the city together, working in partnership with voluntary, community and other organisations to create an emergency food network.to help those identified escape food poverty and access positive activities.

Volunteers We need a team of fabulous packers 10-12 each session to stand & pack 1500 boxes every week to distribute every Monday& Wednesday ALSO JUST ADDED Tuesdays also as we intend to pack 500 a session in order to work at a suitable pace and distance This will be a fantastic opportunity to work alongside many other volunteers from across other services, teams and communities and partners to serve them.  

Dates & Times  Every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday  09.30 – 14.30 until the end of August/

Where Coventry Foodbank RDC ( Regional Distribution Centre), Progress way, Binley Industrial Estate, Coventry CV3 2NT. From the Morrisons Island, Binley Road heading out of town turn right onto Herald Way then first left at Hydro Gardens onto Progress Way. Coventry Foodbank is half way down on the right. Buses 13 &23 stop Binley Rd.

PLEASE do come to the front door & press the door entry system to be let in..DON’T walk in through the cargo door

Keeping Safe during COVID  & PPE 

On arrival you will be required to have your temperature temp taken remotely, wash your hands & sign in..Volunteers are required to wear gloves and high vis vests for work in the warehouse ( provided ) & wear close toed footwear. There is has a large open loading bay for fresh air and we will endeavour to maintain 1metre distancing. Masks are optional a sense of humour not.. 

Other info 

The Foodbankhas a staff room where you can leave personal ítems,or make a hot/cold drink when we take a late morning break, chairs are spaced out for social distancing. Fire safety/evacuation info will be given after arrival.

PLEASE DO make sure I have you on my rota before you turn up I have to comply with Coventry Foodbank regulations on numbers of volunteers on the premises 

PLEASE DO let me know if you can’t show up for any reason, no problem it doesn’t matter how late or last minute 

I may be able to get cover – we need to get those boxes filled.

PLEASE DO KNOW that you will be will be part of a team of fantastic volunteers who will make a difference to children & their families during these summer holidays in  this current situation of worldwide pandemic which has had such a huge impact on all of our lives..

GoodGym welcomes anyone aged 18 or over. If you are under 18 then you will be unable to participate in any GoodGym activity
