We came, we sawed, we conquered

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.

Two winter warriors met outside Mrs M's house in the rain to move her double bed to make room for the hospital bed, to allow her to come back home for Christmas. Despite the bed frame splitting in 2, the very narrow staircase, to which a new bannister had just been added, made it almost impossible to manoeuvre the frame downstairs. Luckily, the bed was not a keeper, so we set to tear it apart. After some sawing and kicking in strategic places, we were able to manoeuvre it downstairs much more easily. After that, moving the heavy matress was a breeze. Mrs M's son was very grateful for our help and looks forward to spending Christmas at home with his mum.
