Date and time

Who this task will support
Elmington Community Garden
Members and volunteers of Elmington Estate have setup a community garden at the The Wildlife Triangle on Brisbane Street to transform this lawn into a wildlife garden.

It's Wednesday night and we're doing it right...it's also our group run night!

In this group run, we will be running from Old Spike Peckham to Elmington Estate, which is a 3k run each way to help Catalina and the Elmington Community Garden gang with gardening, tidying and weeding. This will be a monthly group run throughout Spring and Summer 2024 as Elmington Community Gardens has pockets of green spaces, but not enough volunteers to look after them until GoodGym Southwark stepped in...

Come along for the run or you can also meet us at the task: The Wildlife Triangle, London, SE5 7NJ at 19:15.

It's also the first Wednesday of the month, which means we have our monthly social. We will be heading to Peckham Rye Park after getting a few drinks and snacks from the shops to enjoy the beautiful British summer. If not, the weather isn't great, we will head to a local pub.

New to GoodGym Southwark?

Not to worry, it can be daunting coming to your first group run, but we are so welcoming whether you're just starting out as a runner or have been running for years. We welcome all!

Here's the important information - the "Where, When and What":

๐Ÿ“ We meet at Old Spike Roastery in Peckham between 18:30-18:45. Alternatively, meet us at the task: The Wildlife Triangle, London, SE5 7NJ at 19:15.

โŒš 18:30-18:45 (leaving at 18:45 latest).

โœ… There will be access to Old Spike Roastery, so you can drop your bags and use their toilets before we head out.

๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ After a quick warm-up, we run together as a group. If there are loads of us, there will be a back marker to ensure no one is left behind. On this run, we will be running 6k in total (3k each way). We will spend 35-40 minutes doing the tasks mentioned above (or as much as we can) before running back.

Advisable: Bring ๐Ÿงค gardening gloves.

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 3km and 6km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
