I joined Alex a few minutes after he'd already started the task for Mrs S after Google maps directed me an awkward way on my bike. He was already busy weeding between the paving, where the spring sun and rain has done their thing and they'd grown... well, like weeds! I got stuck in at the other end and we kept going until we'd met in the middle.

It was difficult to get to the root of the problem between paving stones, so it seems likely that it won't take it long for things to grow back, but it looks smarter for now and hopefully Mrs S will be able to keep on top of it.

7 Goodgymers helped out Bloom at the allotment. We welcome Rob to Goodgym. Lovely evening for a wonderful task. We met up with Kendall who then explained to us the task involved. Spades, showels and wheelbarrows were given and we were led down the path where the wood chip pile was. Lovely smell of fresh wood chip and we all chatted away whilst filling the wheelbarrows with woodchip. Then up and down the paths we walked and some even ran to the allotment. Then spread the wood chip around to designated areas. We hope Kendall is happy and satisfied with our workout. A beautiful evening with Bloom. Also t a big Thank you to all the photographers, especially Seft.

Five goodgymmers met up with the lovely Common Thread volunteers to sort through heaps of recent clothes donations. After Fran and Jess's welcome, we organised ourselves around the tables, going through bags of clothes and sorting them according to gender and type of clothes. We were also looking for specific clothes to make bundles for other charities who were looking for particular items for clients. It was Vivien's first Goodgym session at Common Thread and just like the rest of us, she got stuck in, unearthing some fab clothes finds, making piles of coats, dresses, jumpers etc. Well done!!! We filled up the lift and soon it was time to bid goodbye to Common Thread, some of us leaving with donated leeks from Fran''s allotment or a fancy and snazxy item of clothing! Another job well done, gang! See you guys soon!

Rachel and Celine met wiht the lovely Mrs C at her home to help re-arrange the bedroom furniture. Although the wardrobe had already been taken down by friends of Mrs C, we set out to move the bed, re-arrange boxes and clothes. Mrs C should now be able to access her bedroom without any fear of trips and falls! Going forward Mrs C wishes to declutter clothes from her wardrobe and donate them to charity. We would love to help!

3 GG Angels ran up to Maltravers Street to meet up with David and Gerry . Then Andy turned up in a red car . Andy was then given a new Hi Vis Volunteer Vest. Looks good Andy!. We were then briefed by Gerry and tools were given to start our task of Litter Picking. David brought the tools and informed us what to do...Cutting of hedges were left for the men to do. They look hardcore so let them get on with this task. We collected loads of litter on the pavements, near the bus stop, round the public areas and near the roadsides too. We got very carried away and worked hard and time passed so quick and we did extra time so to speak. Fortunately not too far to run back and it was downhill for the Angels. Reaching City Centre on my way back home I stopped at Tudor Square and managed to watch the finals of The Snooker Tournament outside The Crucible Theatre. There were a lot of Chinese Supporters too and I was fascinated by the crowd in their Deck Chairs enjoying their drinks and being entertained. Just a couple of photos I took. 5 Goodgymers met up at The Showroom Cinema. Welcome Vivien to Goodgym! Nice to meet you and hope we cheered you up. We ran from The Showroom to meet up Karen. Gary and other volunteers at top if Andover Street. We were told where to Litter Pick and we followed Karen's instructions to go to Gower Street. It is a long street but in between there are cafes, takeaway shops and lots of people standing and chatting. Interesting area where many people from other countries meet together in the evenings for a smoke, drink and chat. It is a Community place but there are a lot of rubbish in between the parks, bushes, bus stops and the streets. We , the Goodgymers worked really hard and even chatted to the locals. A local disabled man l, by the name of Barry joined us litter picking. See the photos for evidence and to share with others too. Millie found hair and bones and assumed a dead animal. We later lost Millie because she went ahead with the other PP volunteers. So we decided to run up to find her and she was still litter picking eventhough it was time for us to run back. But we chatted to other people whilst waiting but ran back cheerily again and back to The Showroom. Thank you team and a joy to be working with all of you.
