It was fantastic to welcome new runner Millie along to last nights run, we hope you enjoyed it and you come back again Millie!
It was a very short uphill round the corner type run (a popular one) round to Common Thread at Union Street this week.
We met Fran and other volunteers from Common Thread as they were mid sort, unfortunately with a broken elevator which made things a little more complicated than usual. No matter, we still get stuck in!
Rather than prepping for a clothes exchange this time we were helping to sort requested items from other charities in Sheffield including:
Ben's Centre - A homelessness charity City of Sanctuary - An asylum seekers charity Sheffield Working Women's Opportunities Project (SWWOP) - A charity providing intensive support, outreach, and harm reduction services to women involved in sex work
Each charity had different clothing requests and we did our best to sort through clothes to find appropriate donations for them.
It's always a great welcome at Common Thread and we look forward to coming back to see them for the next one!
Until next time, happy running! :)

It was great to welcome Phil and Helen to the GG pack.
Big thanks to Annie for welcoming everyone before dashing to Theatre practice and then the family meal! Busy lady!
We headed down to the start of Gerry's section of the Transpenine Trail to meet her and William and get tooled up ready for litter picking.
We got to it heading out of the city the opposite way to last time. On the whole things were looking fairly clear with some hot spots along the way.
Once done, Gerry talked us through the Fix My Street app and how to report various concerns to the council via the app. Very modern.
Until next time. Happy running! :)

This week we were spreading the word for our local youth housing charity.
Roundabout have some fantastic fund raising events coming up to help them fund the fantastic work they do, so our task tonight was to help spread the word locally to try and get more people aware of the events and get involved!
We started at our home of The Showroom Cinema and met Mhairi who gave us the low down on the upcoming events.
We spent 5mins or so sorting the leaflets out into easy to deliver stacks and then headed off up to Park Hill where we knew we could get a lot delivered in a small space of time!
Annie had some other engagements but still came down and grabbed leaflets and covered her more local area of:
And didn't we just, the plan was to try and deliver leaflets to as many flats as possible, but we were out by the time we reached the second floor! Still there was plenty of time for window shopping skyline searching!
We finished off with some view finding over the city skyline before calling it a night.
Until next time, happy running :)

Well this was an interesting one!
We met with Claire the Vicar on site at St Mary's church and got tooled up with spades and ho's to starting the turning over of a piece of land on the graveyard ready for planting of wild flowers.
It was really tough going but we gave it our best and turned over a good section of grass on the site ready for future planting.
St Mary's church behind us was beautifully lit and provided a wonderful backdrop for the evening.
We were visited by a couple of local Bobby's on bikes who at first must have thought we were grave robbers but soon realized we were up to good and not no good.
Until next time, happy running! :)
