About the task

Common Thread are a community-based organisation operating in and around Sheffield, South Yorkshire who organise regular clothes exchanges to help reduce, reuse and recycle clothes, give wardrobes a re-fresh and help to provide an alternative to nasty unsustainable fast fashion.

We will be meeting Jess and her team to help sort clothes into categories to help them get ready for the next clothes exchange.

The project takes place in Union Street, which is nice and close to The Showroom Cinema, meaning a short run and a decent amount of time being able to help the project out!

Address:

Union St 18-20 Union Street Sheffield S1 2JP

Risks:

Anyone who suffers with dust allergies might want to bring antihistamines due to the clothing fibres the building is old and has many flights of stairs, the toilets are on the second floor.

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.

This is a GoodGym group run. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run to the task together. If you can't run for more than 15 minutes without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Tom Mutton (he/him) by email at tomm@goodgym.org.

Options are available to run between 2km and 3km in total.

Remember that we will be running to and from the task, so you'll only be running for half this distance in one go.

GoodGym is a community of people that get fit by doing good. We run, walk and cycle to do practical tasks for community organisations and isolated older people.
