Seven of us wended our way to Hunslet Common on a slightly soggy Sunday afternoon. True to their word the contact from Leeds Council had a dozen spades ready for us and six thousand bulbs or so to get into the ground.

They'd highlighted five 12 foot or so circles in which they wanted bulbs planting in regular lines so we set to work digging trenches and working our way through it methodically and whilst Jenny, Tom & Rob got a headstart on one patch, Ellie, Liam, Katie & Carol got on with a patch on the other side of the green space. Obviously once it started spitting Jenny sent Rob back to the car to provide spare raincoatage ;)

Star hindrance/helper award of the day goes down to Cara the Maltipoo, who, whilst no help at all with either the digging or the planting or the refilling was definitely the star attraction of the day..

When you look that stylish you don't need to be helpful - Guy from council

A good hour & a half later and we'd got a few thousand bulbs in the ground which was most appreciated by the task owner, socially distanced cinnamon buns in the car park were the reward from Ellie, - a good days Good Gym done!
