Today, 6 awesome GoodGym members braved the snow and ice to get to 'The Store Cupboard' a new not for profit affordable food project that's going to launch in Hanwell in the next few weeks.

About the project:

This new project is going to be incredible and will aim to provide an effective way to help people’s food budgets go further when they find themselves in need.

They will be looking to provide healthy affordable food and access to local support in hope of helping people by bridging the gap.

The job at hand:

They asked for a hand with the essential task of helping to clean the space to help get this community project off the ground and we jumped at the chance to be involved.

Everyone really got stuck in today and after 3 hours we'd made a HUGE difference to the space.

Eleonora took on the mammoth task of cleaning a huge pile of metal crates that will be used in the shop. Milly swept, mopped and took on any task thrown at her including dragging a very heavy vintage sink into the garden for a good scrub down (in minus temperatures in just a t-shirt, I might add!). Jackie joined us for her first every GoodGym community mission today and we were so lucky to have her, she cleaned, lifted and shifted for three hours straight! Bernice cleaned every bit of furniture she could get her hands on! And last but not least Muhammad joined us to help blast through all the last bits of cleaning needed in the second half of the shift.
