It was GoodGym's monthly trip to Baffins for their litter pick today.
Sammy arrived frresh from parkeun with an iced coffee and some banana bread in her bag. We were then joined by Holly and Rebecca.
We decided to pick in the woods to keep in the shade as much as possible, and there was a reasonable amount of Friday night party rubbish. Best finds were a sealed pack of sweets, 2 different sized nerf arrows, tinsel and a 3d printed man who we named Robert. We even found 2 tokens from the Easter Egg hunt.
After an hour we'd collected a decent amount of rubbish and were starting to heat up so we called it a day. The team from BPA were very thankful for our help.
If you're taking part in the Lion Hunt, the Baffins one has moved and is now by the pond, visible from the BPA compound entrance.

Despite sticking to just the front of the park, we managed to fill a whole bag in half an hour - in large part, thanks to the enthusiastic supervision of Indie, the beautiful labrador!
We were very surprised to see a bush draped in a huge white web, which was probably the work of gorgeous ermine moth caterpillars.

After parkrun, we gave Great Salterns a bit of a clean up.
We welcomed Goodgym tourist Jacqui from Barnet and Rebecca's friend also called Rebecca from Southampton.
Among the usual finds, we found a particularly memorable find: part of a man's pants... always keeping things classy on a Goodgym task! On a more tasteful note, we also found a frisbee still in good shape, so we hung it on a low branch as a lucky gift for a passing dog!

What a pleasure it was to be part of parkrun's 1,000,000th Event weekend of celebrations!
Rebecca joined the volunteering team as a Marshal, whilst Jane took on Barcode Scanning for the runners at the end.
Jen and Dave managed to run and volunteer this week- Dave had to put his foot down to takeover Finish Tokens from the Run Director, whilst Jen added some shuttle runs to her cool-down whilst Token Sorting.
We also got to meet Jacqui from GoodGym Barnet, who joined us for two tasks after her parkrun tourism, and local MP Amanda Martin, who spoke so highly of GoodGym, which was wonderful to hear! Also - I wish I could look as glam a Amanda after a 5km!
Nice job, everyone!
