Last night’s task at the Masbro Centre felt a bit like opening a mystery box… except the mystery was just how much stuff could possibly fit into one sports cupboard. Spoiler alert: A LOT.
We decided it was time to tackle the other half of the cupboard, and wow—what a collection. We uncovered a whole fleet of cars, buggies, motorbikes, and enough kids’ toys to start our own mini theme park. Naturally, the only way forward was to take everything out first… cue organised chaos.
Once emptied, it was time to get stuck into the clean. And when I say brooms galore, I mean it—there were sweeping tools in every direction as we gave the inside a proper refresh. Dust didn’t stand a chance.
Huge shoutout to Cristina for smashing her very first Group Run! Not only did she dive straight into the action, but she also took charge of the leaf blower like a pro. With that fired up, we wrapped up the cupboard in no time and moved on to clearing the sports hall floors of leaves—strangely satisfying, not going to lie.
The whole evening just worked. Great teamwork, good vibes, and everything flowing smoothly from start to finish. Plus, bonus points for the run to and from the station—cardio and good deeds all in one session.
Thanks again everyone—absolute dream team energy.
Have a lovely Easter all 🐣

Thanks to everyone who took part in our March Any Place, Anywhere litter pick and sent in photos. Great to see people getting involved in such a simple, flexible, feel-good community mission. Gus even helped me with mine this month!
Litter picking is basically training: walking, squatting, spotting, lifting, and improving your local area all at once. So why not get in training with GoodGym for April’s Any Place, Anywhere litter pick?
Do it whenever suits you, wherever you are. Please share and encourage anyone else who might want to join in. Let me know if you’d like to take part.
here’s a note from Jacaqui
Sally and I litterpicked enroute to the theatre again® . There was so much litter that we were still half a mile away once we'd filled our bags • Will take more bags next time .

Last night we kicked things off outside Battersea Arts Centre with a displaced warm-up thanks to a very intriguing film crew setting up nearby. No confirmed sightings of any A-listers… but if anyone finds out what they were filming, let us know!
The post warm up question was far too easy for you: what year was the first iPhone released? Most of you knew it was 2007 so I’ll have to up the difficulty next time.
Then it was time to hit the road with a run down to Venue Community Centre Battersea, a brilliant local space that plays a key role in bringing the community together. From hosting activities, acting as a base for charities such as Waste not Want Not, to providing a welcoming hub, places like this really matter — and we were there to help keep it in its best shape.
Armed with mops, cloths, and plenty of elbow grease, we got stuck into a full-scale tidy-up: sweeping floors, cleaning windows, packing away wood and tables — and even tackling some unexpected tasks. Shoutout to Jason, who casually took on plumbing duties and fixed a leaking pipe. No big deal. Just adding expert plumbing to the GoodGym skillset.
With the space transformed into a sparkling hub once more, we squeezed in a round of core and strength exercises. The reception was mixed but you all powered through, finishing strong with a one-minute plank challenge.
Then it was a run back to base, followed by a well-earned pizza social — the perfect way to roll into the Easter break.
Next week we’re running as normal, so if you fancy hatching some egg-cellent plans (sorry), come along to do good and get active!
