Some eggs-tremely fast running at Woking junior parkrun!

Woking Report written by Woking runner

Alys, Olalekan and Anne met at the band stand to volunteer at the Woking junior parkrun.

It was rather cold and windy, but this did not deter the 110 children, some wearing ๐Ÿฐ ears, who were ready to hop along the eggs-tra special 2 kms route! There were 37 un-bunny-liebable PBs! All children were egg-ceptional today and were delighted to eggs-ercise as there was a special reward when they crossed the finish line: some Easter eggs.

All in all, it was a cracking junior parkrun! ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿฐ ๐Ÿฅ ๐ŸŒˆ ๐Ÿฆ‹ ๐Ÿฅš

4 kms of European Plogging!

Woking Report written by Woking runner

Caterina, Alys and Anne met at the Leisure Centre by a cold, wet and windy evening... Not the ideal weather to perform a plogging session using the litter pickers borrowed from the council.

But they carried on, catching up on news as both Alys and Caterina have been very busy lately and unable to attend a GoodGym event.

We managed to cover 4 kms in the Woking Football Club area and filled a whole black bin bag with various items, mainly bottles or cans, although Alys, the litter picker queen, and her little dog Quinn, spotted several wooden or plastic pieces of cutlery. As we plogged along, we discussed our various experiences about languages; Alys as her husband is Spanish, Caterina who is Italian and French Anne.

All in all we had a super evening helping to keep Woking welcoming while enjoying being together.

Will you join us on Sunday to support Woking junior parkrun?

Arrivederci, adiรณs or au revoir!

Woking Report written by Wayne

Woking Junior Park Run

On this this wet morning Woking GG members were out on the 1st day of Feb to carry out various volunteering roles at junior park run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

Karen was there early followed by Wayne who had a good catch up hearing all about Karen 4 weeks traveling around India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Adam arrived and it was great seeing him and making steady progress returning back to full fitness. Alys arrived shortly after in her full GG outfit ๐Ÿ˜€ and she was looking forward to getting her new kitchen installed this week. James arrived full of energy and laughs and to assist in anything.

The conditions were not the best with puddles and a muddy field to contend with. In total there were 113 young runners who took part this morning with the fastest time an amazing 07:48 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ there were also 43 PB's great running by everyone ๐Ÿ˜€
