Annual Community Fridge Clean
It's that time of the year when the Woking GG team put on their gloves grab their buckets and start the annual community fridge clean ๐ซง๐งฝ
Despite the weather Wayne, Nadia, Alys, & Julie all arrived on time wnd where met by Jules with all the supplies that were needed ๐
Wayne started to clean the community fridge A Frame sign which was in a right state.
Nadia & Julie started to remove the filing cabinet out of the shed and go through and sort out its contents.
Alys was tasked with giving the cabinet a good wipe down wit Quinn also helping ๐ถ It was great seeing Alys who has just returned from a long trip to Japan ๐ฏ and hearing all about it.
Once these tasks were completed and as the heavens opened โ๏ธ we all moved into the shed to move the big fridge and freezer and get behind then to give it a good deep clean, Sweeping up bread crumbs from all the loafs that are normally stored on the shelfs ๐ฅ. At the same time Julie & Nadia giving them a good wipe down.
Wayne then carried out an inspection of the cables making sure they were in good condition
Once all the Crumbs and floor had been cleaned it was time for Nadia &Alys to mop the floor๐ซง๐งผ
The place smelt and looked great by the time we had finished.
Due to the weather we could paint and stain the shed so will be back another day to carry out this task ๐
Wed 13th May at 6:45pm
Tidying up the area we operate from will help to respect the Church grounds we use on a daily basis, we will also be water proofing the cabin for another year. It becomes a well maintained, tidy and welcoming space for our visiters.

Alys, Olalekan and Anne met at the band stand to volunteer at the Woking junior parkrun.
It was rather cold and windy, but this did not deter the 110 children, some wearing ๐ฐ ears, who were ready to hop along the eggs-tra special 2 kms route! There were 37 un-bunny-liebable PBs! All children were egg-ceptional today and were delighted to eggs-ercise as there was a special reward when they crossed the finish line: some Easter eggs.
All in all, it was a cracking junior parkrun! ๐ค ๐ฐ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฆ ๐ฅ

Woking Report written by Woking runner
Caterina, Alys and Anne met at the Leisure Centre by a cold, wet and windy evening... Not the ideal weather to perform a plogging session using the litter pickers borrowed from the council.
But they carried on, catching up on news as both Alys and Caterina have been very busy lately and unable to attend a GoodGym event.
We managed to cover 4 kms in the Woking Football Club area and filled a whole black bin bag with various items, mainly bottles or cans, although Alys, the litter picker queen, and her little dog Quinn, spotted several wooden or plastic pieces of cutlery. As we plogged along, we discussed our various experiences about languages; Alys as her husband is Spanish, Caterina who is Italian and French Anne.
All in all we had a super evening helping to keep Woking welcoming while enjoying being together.
Will you join us on Sunday to support Woking junior parkrun?
Arrivederci, adiรณs or au revoir!
