What a cracking evening, GoodGym-ers! ๐ช๐ผ๐พ
Tonight's tight-knit squad of legends โ Michael, Ben, Jo, Nicole, and yours truly, AA Yianny โ rolled up ready for action, joined by our fabulous friend Naomi from Holy Trinity (HT). ๐ฅฐ
Mission of the night: get HT looking sparkly โจ ahead of some big celebrations coming up. Enter: the weeds along the outer wall, who did NOT see us coming. Armed with some brand new (and, let's be honest, slightly mysterious ๐งฐ) tools, our crack team made light work of the lot โ turns out "getting to the root of the problem" isn't just a saying, it's a Tuesday for us. ๐ฑ๐
With the church looking noticeably less jungle and noticeably more "ready for its close-up," we decided we'd earned ourselves a reward โ and with it being World Cup semi-final night, the choice basically made itself. Down the road we went for a well-deserved drink and to cheer on the football together. Weeding by day, wonder-goals by night โ truly a session of two halves! โฝ๐ป
๐ฑ๐คฉ What a night. HT: 1, Weeds: 0. Thanks for another brilliant session, team โ same time next week? ๐

What better way to kick off the monthly social than with a sweeping success? ๐ A magnificent seven โ Fi, Adam, Michael, Ben, Nicole, Katie, and Jo โ descended on Holy Trinity, ready to make the orchard garden the belle of the bower. ๐ช๐ผ๐พ
With Nicole, Adam, and Naomi on home turf to lead the charge, the crew got straight down to business in the orchard garden, where weeds had been living rent-free for far too long. ๐ฟ๐ค Hoes were wielded, scrapers were scraped, brooms were swept with panache, and bags were filled with the kind of righteous fury only a GoodGym volunteer can muster. Under new management: this garden. ๐กโจ
Itโs fair to say the team made a clean sweep of the place โ leaving paths cleared, beds tidied, and the whole space looking absolutely broom-tiful. ๐ฑ๐คฉ Some might say it was a brush with perfection. We couldnโt possibly comment. ๐งน
The orchard didnโt know what hit it โ and by the end, neither did the weeds. Gone. Bagged. Swept under the rug of history. ๐ชฃ๐ธ
After all that hard graft, the monthly social awaited โ and frankly, no one had ever earned a drink more. ๐ฅโค๏ธ
Big love to Nicole, Adam, and Naomi for having us, and to the whole crew for showing up and showing out. Until next time, Lambeth โ stay sweeping. ๐งน๐

What a night! GoodGym Lambeth were back out in force for one of our favourite combos: a proper graft followed by a proper social.
The dream team of Fi, Ben, Katie, Tilly, Michael, Jo, task owner Nicole, and the brilliant Naomi from HTC assembled, ready to take on whatever the evening threw at them. ๐ช๐ผ
(A special shoutout to Adam, who had to pull out with an injury before the fun began โ wishing you a speedy recovery, mate! Weโll keep a weed-pulling glove warm for you. ๐งค)
The Task: Holy Weed-moley ๐ฑ๐ค Tonightโs mission took us to the vicarage, where the garden had clearly been taking its vows a little too seriously โ specifically the vow of uncontrolled growth. Weโre talking weeds. Weeds upon weeds. A veritable congregation of weeds. If weeds could form a church, this wouldโve been their cathedral. ๐ฟโช
Our lot got stuck in with the kind of righteous enthusiasm that frankly the clergy would approve of. Pulling, digging, bagging โ the whole holy trinity of garden clearance. By the time we were done, the vicar could actually see the garden again. We didnโt quite part the sea of greenery, but we gave it a very good go. Check out the pics for proof! โค๏ธ๐ธ
The Social: What Do You Meme? (More Like What Do You SCREAM) ๐ฑ๐คฉ Post-weeding, the team descended on the Tulse Hill Hotel for the monthly social, where What Do You Meme? was unleashed upon an unsuspecting group of tired volunteers. Reader, it did not stay innocent for long.
Michael appeared to have some kind of mystical connection to the card deck, pulling out banger after banger like a comedy magician. ๐ช Tilly, meanwhile, finally โ finally โ broke her duck and claimed a well-deserved round win (the crowd went appropriately wild ๐). Nicole made a late surge to the finish with all the energy of someone whoโd spent the evening battling overgrown weeds and still had gas in the tank.
As for the female sanitary products, we have agreed collectively to never speak of this again.... An absolutely brilliant evening all round. Weeds vanquished, memes survived, community strengthened. This is what GoodGym Lambeth is all about. ๐โโ๏ธ๐
See you next time โ and Adam, get well soon! ๐โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ You had to be there. On reflection, perhaps itโs better that you werenโt. ๐ซฃ

On a mild Lambeth evening, our GoodGym superstars turned up in gooseberry great numbers for a task that was truly berry satisfying. ๐ช๐ผ๐พ๐ฟ
Our mission: dig out several gooseberry bushes and relocate them (via barrows!) to the orchard garden behind the church. And honestly? It was completed in no time โ proving once again that many hands make light workโฆ and strong legs make lightly complaining work. ๐ ๐
Now, we canโt confirm there was extra speed in the airโฆ but we may have been powered by the knowledge that an end-of-month social was waiting for us. Motivation? โ Relocation? โ Social-ocation? Also โ ๐ค
Huge thanks to Adam and Nicole, our absolute legends of the evening, who hosted us and did not disappoint: food, drink, and board games aplenty! โค๏ธ๐๐ป๐ฒ (Let it be known: we came to transplant bushes, but we stayed to transplant ourselves into competitive board-game personalities.)
A wonderful time was had by all โ and yes, we definitely got to know each other a LOT better too ๐๐. By the end of the night, weโd also uncovered the true solution to modern lifeโs troubles: a cucumber suit, tequila, salami t-shirts, and a very active โsocial lifeโ. ๐ฅ๐๐น๐ฅ๐
So, to summarise: we moved bushes, moved barrows, and moved straight into chaos (the fun kind). Until next time, Lambeth โ stay berry brilliant! ๐โจ๐

GoodGym Lambeth Run Report ๐โโ๏ธ๐ช
This week we were off to Holy Trinity Church to help Nicole with our final festive fix-up of the year - and boy, did we move things along! ๐
The Mission: Operation Party Prep ๐
Our task? A classic case of shift-and-shuffle as we helped clear space under HT for this weekend's celebrations. We moved items into storage faster than you can say "Good-Gym-nastics!" ๐ช๐ผ
With boxes relocated and clutter conquered, the space was transformed from storage chaos to party paradise. Talk about a moving experience! ๐ฆโจ
But Wait, There's More! ๐โโ๏ธ๐จ
Now for the really important bit - we had somewhere to be, and fast! Our end of year social and quiz was calling, and we weren't about to miss out on our chance to show off our big brains alongside those big biceps. ๐ง ๐ช
Quiz Night Spectacular! ๐๐พ
Our lovely group gathered for an epic battle of the minds (and puns) featuring: - 5 quiz rounds mixing GoodGym trivia with general knowledge ๐ค - A mystery challenge round that had everyone scratching their heads - Plenty of not-so-serious shenanigans and creative chaos ๐
In the end, it was the Big Ballerz who took home the glory! ๐ But as the old game show wisdom goes: "Everyone was a Winner!" (Especially when there's good company, great laughs, and possibly some festive treats involved) ๐
A Huge Thank You! ๐โค๏ธ
What a year it's been! Your dedication, energy, and enthusiasm have been absolutely invaluable. We couldn't do what we do without this incredible community of do-gooders and fitness enthusiasts.
We've got ONE more group session before we take a short festive break, then it's onwards and upwards into 2026! ๐
See you at the next one! ๐โจ
Remember: We don't just run the town, we help it run better!

๐ณ GoodGym Lambeth Run Report ๐ณ
This week we were rooting for a great cause as we returned to help the amazing Adam & Nicole from Holy Trinity with a tree-mendous task - planting 120+ baby trees! ๐ฑ๐ช๐ผ
Our group may have been small, but we definitely weren't leaf-ing anyone behind! Adam brought in some brilliant extra volunteers from the HT community, and together we really branched out - managing to plant nearly 100 trees! Talk about getting to the root of the problem! ๐
We wood-n't have been able to do it without our fantastic crew tonight. A huge shout-out to Nicole, Adam, Jo and Anna for joining us - you guys are absolutely tree-riffic! ๐ค Thanks so much for sticking with us (pun absolutely intended).
The turnout might have been on the smaller side, but the effort was mighty oak-sized! ๐ Every tree planted is a seed of hope for our community's future.
Until next time, keep running and doing good! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Fir real though, you're all legends. ๐ฒโจ
