GoodGym Lambeth Run Report 🏃♀️💪
This week we were off to Holy Trinity Church to help Nicole with our final festive fix-up of the year - and boy, did we move things along! 🎄
The Mission: Operation Party Prep 🎉
Our task? A classic case of shift-and-shuffle as we helped clear space under HT for this weekend's celebrations. We moved items into storage faster than you can say "Good-Gym-nastics!" 💪🏼
With boxes relocated and clutter conquered, the space was transformed from storage chaos to party paradise. Talk about a moving experience! 📦✨
But Wait, There's More! 🏃♂️💨
Now for the really important bit - we had somewhere to be, and fast! Our end of year social and quiz was calling, and we weren't about to miss out on our chance to show off our big brains alongside those big biceps. 🧠💪
Quiz Night Spectacular! 🎊🍾
Our lovely group gathered for an epic battle of the minds (and puns) featuring: - 5 quiz rounds mixing GoodGym trivia with general knowledge 🤓 - A mystery challenge round that had everyone scratching their heads - Plenty of not-so-serious shenanigans and creative chaos 😂
In the end, it was the Big Ballerz who took home the glory! 🏆 But as the old game show wisdom goes: "Everyone was a Winner!" (Especially when there's good company, great laughs, and possibly some festive treats involved) 😊
A Huge Thank You! 🙏❤️
What a year it's been! Your dedication, energy, and enthusiasm have been absolutely invaluable. We couldn't do what we do without this incredible community of do-gooders and fitness enthusiasts.
We've got ONE more group session before we take a short festive break, then it's onwards and upwards into 2026! 🚀
See you at the next one! 👟✨
Remember: We don't just run the town, we help it run better!

🌳 GoodGym Lambeth Run Report 🌳
This week we were rooting for a great cause as we returned to help the amazing Adam & Nicole from Holy Trinity with a tree-mendous task - planting 120+ baby trees! 🌱💪🏼
Our group may have been small, but we definitely weren't leaf-ing anyone behind! Adam brought in some brilliant extra volunteers from the HT community, and together we really branched out - managing to plant nearly 100 trees! Talk about getting to the root of the problem! 🎉
We wood-n't have been able to do it without our fantastic crew tonight. A huge shout-out to Nicole, Adam, Jo and Anna for joining us - you guys are absolutely tree-riffic! 🤗 Thanks so much for sticking with us (pun absolutely intended).
The turnout might have been on the smaller side, but the effort was mighty oak-sized! 💚 Every tree planted is a seed of hope for our community's future.
Until next time, keep running and doing good! 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Fir real though, you're all legends. 🌲✨

🏃♀️✂️ GOODGYM LAMBETH RUN REPORT ✂️🏃♂️
Mission: Operation Hedge Fund 🌿💰 Location: Holy Trinity Task Owner: Nicole (making her official GG debut - hedging her bets on us!)
This week our magnificent crew ran to Holy Trinity where Nicole needed some serious hedge-ucation! The mission? Chop and lop those overgrown hedges down to size so no sneaky wrong'uns could lurk behind them. We weren't hedging our bets - we went all in! 💪🏼
Armed with loppers, choppers, and a trusty broom, we channelled our inner Edward Scissorhands and got stuck in. Let's just say our topiary skills were... a cut above? 🧹✂️ (Okay, maybe we're better at running than gardening, but we gave it a good trim!)
Tonight's Royal Rumble: 👑🎤 The conversation took a regal turn as we discovered our group is basically the Buckingham Palace of running clubs! We've got lineage going back to William the Conqueror, connections to Edward VIII, AND someone related to Kylie (we're assuming Minogue, not Jenner, but we should be so lucky!). Forget the Crown - we're living our own Netflix series!
Special Shout-Outs: 🌟 🎉 HUGE welcome to Nicole who flipped from task owner to official GoodGymer - talk about hedge-ing your bets on the right crowd! You absolutely smashed it!
👏 Our regular legends were out in force: Jo, Michael, Tilly, and Patrick - you're all absolute diamonds! 💎
🎂 And a MASSIVE thank you to Marks & Spensers via AA Yianny for the sweet treats to celebrate getting another year wiser (and clearly more generous)! Age is just a number, but cake is FOREVER. 🤗
Final verdict: Another hedge-cellent night of fitness, friendship, and foliage management! We came, we saw, we pruned! 🌿✨
Same time next week? We'll be there - you can hedge on it! 😉

🏃♀️💪 🏃♂️✨ What a WEED-erful evening we had with our awesome crew at Holy Trinity! 🌿
Our mission commanders Nicole and Adam (fellow GGer extraordinaire) had us getting down and dirty with some serious weed warfare along the main entrance. We scraped, we pulled, we conquered those pesky pavement invaders like the gardening gladiators we are! 💪🌱
The timing couldn't have been more perfect - with a wedding happening this weekend, we made sure those happy couples won't be tripping over trip-hazards on their special day! 👰💒 Nothing says "I do" like a pristinely weeded walkway, am I right? 😄
Speaking of Holy matrimony - Holy Trinity is currently advertising for a new vicar! Maybe they need someone who can really "grow" their congregation? 🙏😉
MASSIVE shout-outs to tonight's legendary lineup: 🚴♂️ Paul - who cycled in like the two-wheeled hero he is! 🏃♀️ Fi - made her own way and absolutely smashed it! 🏃♂️ Michael - also went solo and showed those weeds who's boss!
You could say we really... ROSE to the occasion! 🌹 The entrance looked absolutely mint when we finished - we definitely didn't let the grass grow under our feet! 🌿✨
Another fantastic session in the books, team. Same thyme next week? 😏🌿
Keep running, keep doing good! GoodGym Lambeth 💚

This week our fantastic crew of do-gooders embarked on another mission to spread joy and burn calories in equal measure! We ran to Holy Trinity to meet the lovely Adam, taking the scenic route through the park where we couldn’t resist a spontaneous 50-yard dash. Because apparently regular running isn’t challenging enough - we needed to add some competitive spirit to really get those heart rates pumping!
Well done Fi!! Perdie sorry about the misbehaving bicycle...:0(
Once we arrived at the vicarage, it was time to get down to the nitty-gritty (and thorny) business of garden warfare:
Blackberry Bramble Battle Royale - Armed with secateurs and sheer determination, we took on some seriously aggressive brambles that had clearly been plotting garden domination. These weren’t just any old thorns - they were the kind that fight back! Several volunteers emerged looking like they’d been wrestling with a particularly grumpy hedgehog, but victory (and a kilo of berries) was ours!
Path Clearing Champions - We declared all-out war on weeds and moss, transforming a slightly shabby path into something so pristine it practically sparkled. The weeds didn’t stand a chance against our green-fingered army of destruction!
Weeding Warriors - No dandelion was safe as our volunteers pulled, tugged, and uprooted with the enthusiasm of people who genuinely enjoy making things tidy (which, let’s face it, is slightly concerning but utterly admirable).
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we have a genuine superhero in our midst! Tonight we’re celebrating our absolute legend Michael, who has just recorded his 300th good deed with GoodGym!
That’s right - THREE HUNDRED acts of community kindness since he started back in 2017. To put that in perspective, that’s roughly one good deed for every cup of tea consumed during a typical British crisis meeting, or about the same number of times we’ve all said “this year will definitely be different” since 2017.
Michael, you absolute weapon of community spirit, you’ve been smashing it for seven years and show no signs of slowing down. From bramble battles to litter picking adventures, from community garden chaos to whatever weird and wonderful tasks we’ll inevitably stumble into next week - you’ve been there through it all!
Here’s to Michael: proving that being a legend isn’t just about what you achieve, but about showing up week after week with a smile, a pair of running shoes, and an inexplicable willingness to wrestle with hostile vegetation! 🏆
Another week, another successful mission accomplished! The vicarage is looking absolutely mint (pun intended), our step counters are very happy with us, and somewhere in Lambeth, a group of defeated brambles is probably plotting their revenge for next season.
Until next week, keep running, keep laughing, and keep being the kind of people who think spending their evening pulling weeds is actually a pretty decent way to spend time!
Remember: We’re not just working out - we’re working wonders in our community, one terrible pun at a time!

What a great session we had at Holy Trinity Church! Our fantastic group came together to tackle some much-needed gardening and green waste management with Nicole, and we really rose to the occasion.
The team worked tirelessly to clear overgrown areas, manage green waste, and help transform the church grounds. It’s safe to say we were all rooting for a successful outcome, and we certainly didn’t leaf any job unfinished!
Special Mentions
🌟 Jordan from Wandsworth Thanks for branching out and joining us from across the borough! Your enthusiasm really helped us turnip the energy levels.
🌟 Hanna - Congratulations on your very first GoodGym session! You threw yourself into the work with such dedication - we can tell you’re going to grow into a fantastic regular member of our community.
Birthday wishes go to our wonderful Tilly who also provided sweet treats for everyone - happy birthday!
A huge thank you to Nicole for coordinating the session and showing us exactly what needed doing, as well as Run Leader Joao for taking the run. With teamwork like this, we’re proving that many hands make light work - even when dealing with heavy garden waste!
Until next time, keep running and keep doing good!
