This was a great task - with GG members from Leicester and Portsmouth also joining in and some new members locally!
Yoyo enjoyed a litter pick along Chilworth Road saying it was good, easy to organise, and it felt great contributing to the community.
Nick from Leicester litterpicked a road into Asfordby village. Two bags of grot plus 2/3 bag of crushed cans left at the wombles Air Ambulance appeal collection point. Adding to the £17k raised so far by collecting and weighing in the cans from across the borough!
Judy from Portsmouth GG tried to litter pick the sandy beaches of Jersey - thought they were very clean so finding litter was tricky!
Jane from Portsmouth GG tidied up the bushes at Milton Park - but wasnt able to catch any of the big big bubbles floating past as she did so!
Sarah filled two bags with litter whilst walking along the River Itchen near Brambridge.
Dave from Portsmouth GG picked locally in Pompey.
Amanda did her litter pick on the way to the pub - sounds like my kinda litter pick!
Ellie filled a bag local to where she lives - not just from her garden!
Wilson filled a bin bag just from her 10 min walk home from work - sad but true.
All these litter picks build up and help to keep our environment clean 😊😊😊

Sadly, Dave logged his first ever DNS after falling victim to a particularly nasty case of vertigo the day before the Lisbon Half Marathon - absolutely gutted for you, Dave!
Andy had a great run, despite picking up a calf injury a few weeks ago, and our eagle-eyed cheerleader Lou managed to spot GG Birmingham's Rauul whilst we were crossing a road bridge. Both were looking super strong when they passed us - well done!

We all set off very excited for our first evening of toad patrol on Hensting Lane. All day we hoped for rainy, mild weather and we were lucky the rain set in as we were setting off. The first stretch of the lane Mike showed us the ponds to release the toads into and told us lots of information about the toads including how to identify male and female toads. Our first find was actually a newt! On the walk back up the lane all the toads had started to make their way to the road. In total 14 male toads, 5 females and 3 newts were helped to safety. Sadly two toads got run over so it goes to show how important the patrols are as it could have been a lot more without our helping hands. Now we just have to hope for some more mild and rainy evenings in February and March so we can go help again!

It's official: we love swans! We had great fun feeding them around the city with family, friends or just individually. The rain didn't put us off fitting in little litter picks too.
