Another great night at Masbro Centre and we got stuck straight in.
First up was the front garden โ we cleared all the fallen leaves and got it looking tidy again. Then it was onto the small roof area, with Jalal up high doing the hero work and getting stuck in.
Next, back garden takeover! Lillie & Matthew made that sliding door glass absolutely shine ๐ช you could barely see the glass afterwards, while Therese, Jalal and I went full leaf-busters and cleared nearly 5 bags worth ๐๐ช
Best moment: Lillie rescued some lovely tomatoes from the garden โ saved just in time for Beaโs dinner ๐
Great job done by all, Masbro is looking fresh front to back!

Last night, we were back at the Masbro Centre for another evening of volunteering, with Matthew and Jalal ready to get stuck in!
First up, we gave the hall some much-needed attention, clearing away all the leaves that had found their way inside. We then turned our attention to the sports cupboard, giving it a tidy and a bit of a refresh. The best part? It was great to see that it was still looking in good shape from the last time GoodGym got in there and worked our organisational magic! ๐ช
Meanwhile, Jalal and Matthew took on the corridors with the hoovers, making sure the place was looking fresh and clean from top to bottom.
And because no GoodGym session is complete without a little bit of unexpected fun, we finished the evening with some curling... using the brooms! ๐ฅ๐งน It might not be heading to the Olympics just yet, but there was definitely some competitive spirit on display!

It was time for a welcome return to Brook Green, where we were ready to roll up our sleeves and get stuck into whatever the park had in store for us. What we weren't quite prepared for was just how much debris had gathered since our last visit! But no pile of leaves, branches and general garden mess was going to defeat this GoodGym crew.
Everyone mucked in, clearing and collecting until we'd filled an impressive four bags of debris. Meanwhile, Maria got straight to work on the ivy wall โ and what a transformation! ๐ฑ She cleared it brilliantly, revealing a wall that now looks absolutely fabulous. A very satisfying before-and-after moment for the evening!
But the biggest celebration of the night belonged to Matthew, who has now completed an incredible 400+ GoodGym tasks! ๐๐ That's more than 400 occasions of giving his time, energy and muscles to help his community โ an absolutely phenomenal achievement. The lovely Brook Green team helped us mark the occasion by providing some juice, so naturally we raised our cups and gave Matthew a well-deserved cheer. ๐ง๐ฅ
A fantastic evening of gardening, teamwork and celebrating a huge GoodGym milestone. Here's to Matthew โ and to many more good deeds ahead! ๐

It was a LoT to give back! this week as we teamed up with Library of Things to spread the word about borrowing rather than buying. ๐ฑ
We were joined by Charlotte, Library of Thingsโ Lead Marketeer, who also used to work at the Corporate Centre โ so it was brilliant to have you back with us! We were also very happy to welcome Kash, a GoodGym familiar face. ๐
Jalal arrived on his bike and led us over to Library of Things in the Livat to start the evening. We got a proper look at how it all works, including their real-life lockers, before heading out into the local community with a stack of flyers - 1000 to be exact!
We found a nearby residential area and set off on a flyer-filled trail, working our way along three big roads as a team. And just when we thought the evening couldn't get more exciting, we had a very rare summer solar eclipse to enjoy! ๐ With our trusty protective glasses at the ready, we took a little time to admire the spectacle and catch up.
Then it was back into town, where Jalal was waiting for us, happily handing out flyers to anyone who looked like they might be interested. ๐ฃ After spreading the Library of Things love far and wide, we made our way back to Shepherdโs Bush station.
A big thank you to everyone for making it such a fun one โ and to everyone who helped get the word out. Borrow more, buy less, and give things a second life! ๐

Tonightโs Masbro volunteering task turned into a full-on shelving showdown ๐ We had 2 shelving units to build and decided the only fair way was to compete.
Team 1: Cheski + Lillie Team 2: Matthew + Maria
Matthew and Maria came in hot with a mallet ready to go โ serious head start energy. Team Cheski/Lillie had to go hunting for a hammer first, but once we were set up we were a dream team. Laid out all the pieces, followed the questionable instructions, and clicked everything together piece by piece ๐ ๏ธ
Meanwhile Matthew + Maria were stuck on step 1. We offered help... they declined. Classic. Turns out the piece was upside down ๐
Lillie and I were flying and nearly done, just the wooden shelves left. Then we made our fatal mistake: we got distracted talking about weddings ๐ And thatโs when Matthew and Maria steamed ahead. There was even some sneaky shelf-stealing tactics involved.
It came down to a last-minute race to get the tops on... and surprise, surprise, Matthew and Maria beat us!
Well done to all 4 flat-pack champions. Masbro has 2 brand new shelves and we have a new rivalry ๐
