We met on a lovely autumnal day to help our friends at Cwtch Together. The brief was to help them with some flat pack furniture storage units to store children's toys for their inclusive Saturday morning sessions with disabled children and their families. The scale of the task became clear very quickly! There were over 300 screws and multiple metal connectors in all shapes and sizes.

Where to start...?

We started by getting organised. Each item had a four digit number so we started organising them into orderly sections. Marie had the ingenious idea of noting the item number in pen next to the item so they could be easily identified. Meanwhile, the second half of the team worked on installing the base for the unit (a mere 12' by 6').

We then started assembling the sides of the unit. After much trial and effort, we sussed out how part 7732 slotted into 7406 and we were up and running. We prepared each side panel in readiness for assembly but it became clear that the task was going to need a return visit and so we reasoned that we'd reached an appropriate phase of the build to enable us to hit the ground running with the full assembly next time.

Sarah at Cwtch Together was so grateful for our help and her youngest son became an honorary junior member of GoodGym by wearing his own replica shirt! We'll look forward to a return visit having made steady progress so far.
