💪 13 hardy GoodGymmer souls met on an incredibly chilly evening for our group run tonight. We may have sheltered inside in the warm for as long as physically possible but we left eventually, to head to this evening’s task 🥶

🚚 A last-minute change in plan caused by a Council van malfunction meant that our task was indoors this evening. There was great glee (and some subsequent extra sign ups!) at this turn of events and we were all incredibly grateful to know that there was an indoor session to look forward to while we were out in the cold. (Have I mentioned that it was bloomin’ freezing enough yet?!) ❄️

🏃‍♀️🚶‍♂️🚲 Some ran, some cycled, some walked but we all congregated at Vicky’s school to wrap the remaining Christmas presents for the children there 🚸

🎁 Various levels of wrapping expertise were on display tonight, with a different extent of precision evident on each table. There were also different methods on display, with some teams having a dedicated Sellotape person (while others had fancy tape dispensers that made everything easier). Meanwhile, other teams had to contend with price labels that were particularly sticky and tricky to remove (that’s my excuse, anyway!) 🏷

📚 The teams completed the wrapping of their piles of books at different times so there was then some swapping of people (rather than books) to finish the final wrapping without muddling up the piles 🤔

✂️ It was done in no time and a few lucky folk got to accompany Vicky with the books and tools upstairs. Lucky because they returned downstairs with special teacher’s pet stickers (sorry, I mean well-proportioned visual thanks for their contributions to the task) 👍

🎤 Finally, it was time for the moment we’d all been waiting for…This evening’s carol-based fitness. A carol medley blared through the school system with a different activity for each carol (and the occasional break). Despite the complaints of too many lunges (turns out The First Nowell is a REALLY long carol, in this arrangement anyway), everyone survived and hopefully experienced a tiny moment of festive fun at the same time 🎄

☃️ It was soon time to venture back out into the (literally) freezing temperatures and head back to CVS for stretching etc. Some of us headed to the pub where we got to sample Martin’s “mystery biscuits” (when the mystery involves chocolate, it’s always going to go down well with GG Yorkies) 🍪

🙌 Thank you everyone, this evening felt serendipitous and I think we’re all very grateful for the warmer temperatures of the amended task ☀️

*I can’t take credit for the pun - it was the name of the carol medley we used for fitness 🎶
