Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Flo
Cardiff GoodGym made their way back to Cwtch Together to build shed 2. The building of shed 1 on a previous mission was in the cold and dark rain, but this time we were just presented with the cold of a late November day. It was an excuse to keep moving and build that shed faster to keep warm!
Today at the mission were Emma, Marie, Nathan, Andrew, Lucy, and Flo. Sarah from Cwtch Together had requested our help with the building of shed 2 so that Cwtch Together could store their play items outside and free up the hall space. Sarah had also been pleased with the work on previous missions that Cardiff GoodGym had done and was very happy and grateful to see us again.
As Andrew had passed his 100 mission milestone during the week he needed to don the fairy wings to show this achievement. Unfortunately, there was no magical touch to prevent Nathan and Flo from second-guessing themselves and undoing correct work on part of the roof fitting and doing it wrong instead. This mistake was found out at the stage when the roof fitting part was necessary. It might not have been the only reason why the mission overran, but it did contribute.
Towards the end of the mission our esteemed area activator Mikey showed up with leftover food from the Samye mission that had taken place earlier today and it provided the needed sustenance to finish the shed in good time. Everyone agreed that progress had been made from the building of shed 1. This is lucky, as Sarah has requested our help with building shed 3 before Christmas. Bring it on!
