Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report from the legend Bryon
Finally, a volunteer to write the run report! Unfortunately, Tom was not there to witness this.
So it was that an injured Axel valiantly took up the reins and briefed us on the tasks and took one group to Hollybush Gardens for the classic GoodGym task of moving lots and lots of soil (I think the final count came in at 8 tonnes).
Will lead the slightly longer run to a playground near Farrell House with Andy L supervising proceedings from the back. We were met by Andy from Tower Hamlets Community Housing, a local housing association that owns and manages many of the estates in Tower Hamlets. Andy had identified a big plot of land next to the playground that was perfect for turning into allotments for the residents. But first, he needed some GoodGym muscle to dig all the weeds up. 30 minutes later, with the plot transformed, we made our way back to the Town Hall hotel.
This will be my last GoodGym group run for a while as I'm heading overseas for 6 months. Three years in for me and the energy and positivity of Goodgym shows no sign of diminishing, thanks to the great efforts of Tom and everyone at Goodgym HQ. Long may it continue.
See you in 6 months!
