7 Awesome Goodgymmers gloved up for a bit of woodwork and bulb planting with skill and aplomb and all without the need to descend into any sort of innuendo (mostly).

Today's report is dancing along to this, in case that might interest you...

Not much of a Horticulturist but very much a Musiculturist

There were jobs aplenty at the Nature Reserve today.

The most urgent of tasks was securing the tool shed which looked a shadow of its wonderful former self and had a huge hole at the front where some rather unsavoury characters broke into it earlier this week to steal check notes old gardening gloves. Our Charlie™ showed us his prowess at handling big tools and set off to drill and secure the shed. In the meantime, the K-man and our newest resident Half Marathoner G, proved quite handy at handling wood and sawing it down to measure. Gramps stood by listing a rather rich and unprintable number of ways to describe the aforementioned unsavoury characters.

All the while, Nurjehan, Louise, and Belén were dealing with shedloads of bulbs that needed planting around the Reserve. In all, nearly 800 bulbs were planted. To paraphrase my old mucka Pablito Neruda, Covid podrá cortar todas las flores, pero no podrá detener la primavera!

Earlier in the day, Kapil and Gramps even managed to fit in some Christmas tree collection too.

And as we were coming to the end of a dirty and fun two hours sesh, Nurjehan even broke into song. My god, I'll say it, you haven't truly lived until N has serenaded you on a cold Sunday morning to a truly affecting rendition of Eurythmics' Thorn In My Side. For that, all 7 Goodgymmers thank you, N.

Towards the end of the session, we dug up a trench on the side of one of the footpaths and filled it up with yet more bulbs.

Kudos to Belén, joining this motley crew for her first visit and taking it all in her stride. Hopewe haven't scared you, amiga!

What a day.
