Come and Guide Run with Achilles International (Paddington Rec Track!)

Achilles International are an amazing organisation who link guide with blind and particially sighted runners, and they are looking for potential guides for future training sessions.
Goodgym (and parkrun) communities have been very supportive of this team over the years, so we are looking to see if we can introduce more runners to the world of guiding.
Paddington Rec Track Running
From this Thursday through to Spring, Achilles International will be hosting their weekly VI running group session at Paddington Rec Track, an open access 400m track, 5 minutes walk from Maida Vale Station.
How do I get involved?
We are looking for volunteers to come and help our runners from Maida Vale station, over to our meeting spot near Paddington Rec Track, and back again afterwards. TFL staff are on hand to assist with the runners journey to and from Maida Vale.
We are looking for guides to navigate the runners during the session (paces and distances will be discussed beforehand), and to look out for obstacles and hazards during the run.
Open to runners of all guiding experience
If you are not confident with guiding a runner at first, you are welcome to run with a guiding couple to watch their techniques and how it is done.
What do I do now
If you are interested, sign up here.
We will contact you on Wednesday, and link you to the Achilles International WhatsApp group to discuss our plans for Thursday evening.
Introduce yourself, and let us know your guiding experience, and we will work together to create an awesome group!

We Heat The Ground Running At The Sweatshop
12 perspirating Goodgymmers proved that they can stand the heat as they lent a hand at the Wood Green Traid tonight.
Maudlin Corner
Tonight marked three years since I took over as the trainer/AA/resident Gramps at GGHaringey and I just want to say thanks to all of you for putting up with me! <3
Now let's jump straight to it before I cry....
Sweat Dreams (Are Made Of This)!
In a night that reverberated with naked abandon, carefree shenanigans, and hot fashion, our Goodgymmers joined the lovely staff at Traid for their quarterly turnover.
We're old hands at this task by now so very little supervision was needed.
Our Goodgymmers helped take all the clothes off the hangers, pack it away in the industrial-sized cardboard boxes and also pack all the hangers away for good measure.
Along the way, Sarah amused herself with a rude Shakespearean insults book she found in the for sale pile, Niamh and Alex led the group in a sizzling rendition of Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), and Gramps in no way regretted sharing with the group that he's running a naked 5k race later this year.
Before you could say hawwt hawwwt hawwwwt, our Goodgymmers were done for the evening so we took our customary selfies and headed for the closest watering hole to cool down after a hot job well done.
STOP THE PRESS!
We have a brand new task next week, helping out the Friends of Finsbury Park with a plethora of tasks. And we are then having our summer Social Extravaganza at Rowans afterwards. You must definitely join us for that!
Finally, fuck sweatshops and up the workers!
Peace

Come And Get Fashionably Fit at TRAID

We're visiting Traid on Wood Green for their quarterly clear out. This is always a fun task and you should definitely join us!
We'll be meeting a little earlier and at task for this one. But we will do a nice group run to the Harringay Ladders afterwards.
Fun!
