No pardon here as this is what we asked for...A project to work on throughout the year in Kingston.... and we nearly got going too right!!! Well it's game on again so gloves on and have at it!

The rose beds at the top of Fishponds Park. We worked on these a few months ago and discussed with I.D Verde the idea of adopting them, taking on various aspects of their maintenance through the horticultural year and so the first Tuesday of every month this is the place to be https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/51%C2%B023'17.2%22N+0%C2%B017'37.1%22W/@51.3881111,-0.2947332,18z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d51.3881197!4d-0.2936432?hl=en

Andrew has also been kind enough to share a breakdown of the plan for the area with me so let me know if you wish to know more and I can email you some details!!

....Voices of Hope is a local charity dedicated to community activities, designed to enhance physical and mental wellbeing. Together with the Council, Council contractor Idverde and the Friends of Fishponds Park, we have come up with an exciting plan to reinvigorate a corner of Fishponds Park, Surbiton. This will create a community food growing space, transform a redundant flower bed into a sensory garden and save an existing rose garden. The community allotment will include accessible footpaths for the mobility impaired, as well as a host of green infrastructure features and pollinator-friendly planting to improve biodiversity. Access to grant funding will be required to make all this possible and there is a lot of work to be done before it can be a reality. Once established, the vision includes involving various groups in maintaining and developing the area, with the possibility of using the food for community lunches and even supplying the local food bank. This project will complement the adjacent community orchard that was planted in January 2020 and create an attractive feature with fantastic potential for community use.
