SPEED DEED: Putting away gym mats at Docklands Settlement Centre

We've been asked to help put away mats twice this weekend!

Location
The Dockland Settlements Community Centre at Calder's Wharf
4A Saunders Ness Road
Isle of Dogs
E14 3PS
Date and time
12:15 - 12:35
Saturday, 2nd of July 2022
Who this task will support
The Dockland Settlements
The Dockland Settlements provides sporting, social, recreational and educational activities with a focus on supporting the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Writes The Dockland Settlements Community Centre, “The Centre has large, heavy judo mats in a multi-use hall that need putting away after a weekly judo class.

It’s a big job for one person. Our regular caretaker would love a hand putting the mats away, and would be very grateful if any of your volunteers could help.

The task involves the following:

  • Arrive Saturday at 12:15pm

  • Help caretaker Ryan pile 60 judo mats into two piles (it takes two people to a mat, for safe lifting).

  • We expect it will take approximately 20 minutes for two people, halving this time for every other two people.

  • You can read details of how the team the Saturday before last got on here!

  • The task is overseen by Ryan, the regular caretaker. Any issues on the day, please contact Area Activator Laura at laura@goodgym.org
