We need experienced cyclists to deliver food parcels to vulnerable people in SE17.

Every week, a team of Food Delivery Riders take food parcels from our food hub at Pembroke House Surrey Square, and deliver them to local people who need help because they are isolating, vulnerable or suffering food insecurity. All deliveries happen within a 1.5 mile radius of the food hub in order to keep bike journey times sensible. Shifts are 2 hours and our volunteers usually complete around 4 deliveries in this time (although there is no pressure to reach any particular target).

Volunteers must have your own bike, bike lock, helmet and bike lights, be used to cycling in London and be fit enough carrying a 10Kg load. We use a mobile app to dispatch and track our deliveries so you'll also need to bring a mobile phone with plenty of battery charge to your shift.

We ask that volunteers arrive at the food hub without using public transport, and that everyone wears a mask in the distribution hub and follows strict social distancing procedures, which will be explained on arrival.

You'll need to arrive at 9.45 for morning shifts in order to sign in, get you inducted and ready to ride. You'll then head out on delivery from 10.00 to 13.00.
