We are transforming a disused gardeners' yard on the edge of Canbury Gardens, Kingston, into a community space for wildlife-friendly food-growing

This week's Group Run is to Canbury Gardens where we are going to tackle two good deeds in one night! Our first point of call is the GoodGym wildlife area. Claire has created a GoodGym flowerbed which is starting to bloom and look wonderful! The task here is to replace the plants that didn't flourish over winter and build on the original planting session so the plot gets bigger and brighter. There may be some watering and weeding as well.

The other task is to assist Marilyn in Canbury Community Garden and help her with tasks such as refilling the water butts, watering the garden and turning over the compost. We are fortunate that she lets us take home any ripe produce and the chickens always like to keep us company too.

This is a great beginner task where we can show how gardening keeps you fit and the advantage of people power to get heavy tasks done as a group. The task will include digging and planting so shoes and clothes might get muddy.

Meet at the Quaker Centre for 6.30pm or at Canbury Community Garden for 7pm. The What3Words location in Canbury Gardens is : ///prime.coherent.hugs

Gloves will be needed, see you then.

We can arrange a walking group so please let us know if you want to walk instead of running or cycling. This is a great starter session for newcomers so please come along and see what GoodGym is all about.

New to GoodGym?

This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.

New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.
