Friday's afternoon shift was on and they were rolling out the Astrazeneca vaccine to everyone who attended today. Once we completed our lateral flow tests and thankfully not being photographed by Sarah :-) After we completed our lateral flow tests this time not being photographed whilst doing it 🤣 we headed off to our positions.

Katie and Eli headed into the church where Eli managed the patients from the waiting area and contacted the surgery to send them through. Katie managed the front door to the church welcoming them and assisting any people out of their cars into the door. Jo learnt the ropes of road management ensuring that cars and patients were directed to the correct place to park.

Pizza was available although we were told it wasn't hot as they had delivered it earlier than expected, and the usual offers of biscuits and cups of tea/coffee were provided. Alhough the shift is 6 hours long, it soon passes and we were soon packing up, handing in our high viz and heading off into the evening.

We had a steady flow of people through the surgery and it was lovely to talk to people after they came out and hearing their relief and happiness after getting their vaccine. You can certainly see how this is having a positive effect on people's lives.
