April session @ Bixley Field Allotments 🌱

The Bixley Field Allotments in Southall provide space for the community to grow food locally, and enjoy a little bit of wilderness and the sights of the nearby Grand Union Canal. Southall Transition manages a couple of plots there and needs help with preparing for the winter.

You will meet a friendly group of lovely regular volunteers, enjoy a chat with them and share the harvest (in the summer) or refreshments (usually in the winter).

Mani and Matwinder have big dreams and plans for the community plots. With the help of volunteers, they become possible. Last year, thanks to the regular volunteers and GoodGymers, we literally enjoyed the fruits of our hard work: Mani always shared the harvest with all the volunteers at the Sunday sessions.

• Clearing the site to make space for new fruit trees
• Other gardening tasks

🕑 When?

• Meet at 14:00 - if you are coming later, please tell us in the comments!

📍 Where?

• Meet us at Bixley Field Allotments, Merrick Rd, Southall UB2 4NY
• The allotments are accessible from the Southall Station (15 minutes walk).

🧤 What to bring?

• Gardening gloves, if you have them. If not, there will be some pairs on-site

🚻 Facilities?

• Basic toilet (it's worth bringing your own sanitiser)
