The listing shows 6.30pm as this is the meeting time if you are joining the group run beforehand (further details below) and you are welcome to add a walk/run/cycle beforehand from another location and invite others to join you - there's an option under 'Getting There' so feel free to use it.
Most of the jobs we are helping with can be completed from along the embankment area or outside the station without the need to access the platform or space that requires volunteers to be SWR trained, but please do bear this in mind and listen to any instructions given during the briefing carefully. A number of the team (who are SWR trained) may need to access the fence area of the embankment for the watering.
We will be meeting with Liz (who will be wearing a pink hi-vis SWR jacket) outside Raynes Park station entrance on Approach Road (NOT the Starbucks side!) for a briefing and then split into groups to tackle the various jobs.
Please bring gardening gloves or similar if you have them. Otherwise equipment will be provided including watering cans/buckets, and a trolley. Note that Friends of Raynes Park volunteers may also be on hand to help. There are lighter jobs if you are unable to do any lifting eg pruning, but please let Rachael or one of the other Taskforce team members know if needed.
Points to note - There are very strict rules in place about alcohol and drug consumption. If consumption has taken place within the last 12 hours, volunteers are not permitted onto the railway premises. - Suitable clothing is required e.g. enclosed shoes (no sandals), trousers (no shorts), long sleeves preferred and obviously no high heels, swimwear, dangling jewellery, skate boards, scooters etc. - Do bring glasses if you wear them, long and short distance in case you have to enter a code to open a door or to see a train coming down the track from a distance. We also ask volunteers to wear their hearing aids.
GROUP RUN DETAILS: meeting point at 6.30pm is The Leather Bottle, 277 Kingston Road, London SW19 3NW - distance will be 2-3km. There won't be a run back as we are heading to the Raynes Park Tavern for our monthly social (https://www.goodgym.org/v3/sessions/august-social-06549c49-b6de-4a2b-b334-7625a842fe01).

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.
This is a GoodGym community mission. There is an option to meet other GoodGymers and run to the task. Thinking of cycling - check out our FAQs
This session is organised by your Taskforce, a group of experienced GoodGym members in your area. They are not responsible for your safety. You should feel confident to participate in the session as it is described and you do so at your own risk.
GoodGym is a community of people that get fit by doing good. We run, walk and cycle to do practical tasks for community organisations and isolated older people.
