Fri 3rd Apr at 4:00pm
An end of event session helping with the Easter Egg Hunt pack-down. Fortunately both GoodGym team members were early on site as the weather was getting gusty so we were able to help get a head start put everything back into storage, essentially running the morning's setup in reverse but with the added satisfaction of a successful event behind us.
Dismantling and shifting gazebos, folding down tables, and stacking chairs. We loaded the equipment onto the trolley for the short walk back to the storage area, then had the added challenge of counting eggs and stacking boxes into the available space making sure everything was organised and tucked away securely.

Thoroughly enjoyed helping out the fabulous team at Mitcham Community Orchard & Garden and learned new skills for sawing, chopping and bashing woody broccoli stalks into fibrous pieces for composting ๐ช Whoโd have thought there was so much to it! ๐๐ Huge thanks ๐ to Ms K, Ms R, Mr C and, oh dear I canโt remember (or display) all of your names ๐ณ but all were so incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly and the experience and fresh air was truly invigorating and socially enriching - particularly as my day job involves sitting lonesome at a pc screen all day! Highly recommend this beautiful and very productive garden for doing much good in the community. Thoroughly enjoyable and fun morning, and I hope to return again soon for one of their Action Saturdays ๐๐๐

On the first group task of Spring we were blessed with a dry evening and a gardening task. Having cleared the area of litter, the team got stuck in to weeding, pruning and digging out the flower beds round Martin Way Methodist Church. Getting rid of some of the more persistent roots needed real effort and team support, but that is what we are so good at. So by the end of the evening, all the beds were cleared, the anti-weed netting was down and secured, and we could all be satisfied with a job well done.
