It was a full-on session at Full Cycle this week, bolstered by some fantastic neighbouring support - a few members of the GoodGym Merton team cycled across the borough to lend a hand with the packed to-do list.
In the workshop, it was all hands on deck as we dove into the usual recycling of inner tubes and tyres. This included sorting through wheel rims and tackling the somewhat difficult job of removing stubborn rubber from the metal.
Outside, the mission felt like a high-stakes game of bike Tetris. We had to move a sea of cycles and untangle them from encroaching brambles just to create a workspace. Once we had the room, the team made short work of cutting back the overgrowth, sweeping up leaves, and clearing rubbish before neatly returning every bike to storage.
Heavy lifting, tricky logistics, and plenty of camaraderie: just another un-tyre-ing group session!

It was all aboard for this week's group task helping out the Friends of Raynes Park Station. Our job was to move a big delivery of soil from the street up the stairs to the platform, using a series of buckets and trugs. It was heavy work but we were soon on track to finish on time, even managing to cut back some brambles as well. Before departing we presented Jade with a card and colourful wig to celebrate her 500 task milestone. Well done, Jade - tressed to impress!

Lovely couple of hours spent in the sun today at the Mitcham Community Orchard & Garden. Weeded a raised bed and planted beetroot seeds. Hammered in hazelnut stakes for Genevieve to work her magic later by weaving a willow enclosure.

We spent the morning dead-heading daffodils and hyacinths to encourage future growth, alongside clearing out a fair amount of stubborn sticky weed. Of course, no session is complete without a litter pick to ensure the park stayed pristine. With great company and perfect weather, the morning flew by, leaving the area looking much tidier and ready for the next stage of spring.
