Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Rich Walker
Festive spirits were in the air for our last group run of the year.
It didn't start the best as on arrival to our usual meeting place at the ARU gym we found that were closing for the holidays. This didn't stop us , so we held our pre-run registration and social catch up in the car park before heading off to one of favourite places InterAct
being our last run of the year and Christmas in the air we to do tonights group run in whatever christmas attire we could. There were jumpers , hats and what seemed Christmas tree lights too Well Done
The run would take us into ans through the city centre and when we stopped at usual set of traffic lights i gave the option of doing squats or singing carols while we waited. surprisingly everyone chose to do squats Bah-humbug , but by the time we reached the high street the chistmas spirit was back as we posed for a photo in the "light igloo"
Tonights task was to spread some wood-chips over the car park at the entrance of InterAct to stop mud being brought in and spoiling their beautiful garden. Susie had left us wheel barrows , spades and rakes so we could ferry the wood-chips from a large pile at the back of the garden to out front and then spread it evenly so that it would pick up any mud and stop it from being taken through into the garden. With everyone working hard the pile soon disappeared and everyones attentions turned to the biscuits and drink that were kindly left for us. MMMMMM biscuits
On top of the biscuits was a lovely card left for us from Susie and the rest of the fantastic people at InterAct THANK YOU FOR THE CARD
Felling re-fueled from the biscuits, drinks and the lovely card we set off again knowing that a job was well done. Another quick photo in the high street on the way back and then talk turned to the social this Friday.
We will be going to Zorba the greek restaurant which is booked for 8pm. But we will be meeting at the Ale house around 7pm for drinks.
Hopefully see many of you there and then set your parkrun pb's on Saturday morning after... hahaha
No group runs for the next few weeks over christmas but we'll be back on the 9th January and Gerry will be leading,
Until then,
Run Happy
