Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sam Lefevre (he/him)
It was our monthly session at Old Alleynian Rugby Club with Ian and the Green team.
Maria and Sam met up Elliot at the old shed and he told us he just signed up for GoodGym last night and thought he would come down for his first session today! Hooray and welcome, Elliot!
Ed, Gemma and Daryl came shortly after as the first task at hand was to move wooden pallets away from where the cricket equipment would be wintered to closer to the old shed. Some pallets could be saved whereas others couldn't - we put them in a skip. It was the same for the wooden flooring that we had to pull up.
However, a few of us like Gemma, Maria and Sam got started on clearing back the overgrowth before being joined by Daryl and Ed. We used all sorts of tools from shears to rakes to clear back the ivy and brambles.
After an hour and a half of hard work, we called it a day and Ian kindly gave us a sweet treat to take home before we all departed our ways.
A warm welcome again to Elliot and we hope to see you again!
