9 GG Yorkies headed to Walmgate to sand, undercoat and gloss several wooden flowerbed fences.

Jack and Ed took on the sanding and uncoating challenge, sorting out the one fence which hadn't already been prepared, whilst the rest of us went glossing mad.

Katie almost didn't wear the protective paper suit but the only person brave enough to go PPE-free was Helen, who was also an extremely careful painter.

We did have an incident where someone came an unravelled an electric pink feather boa in the vicinity, which meant everywhere you looked, pink feathers were stuck to white gloss, but we were rescued by the local councillor who did a 'feather pick'.

In just over an hour, all the glossing was done. Helen remained paint-free whilst all of us in the suits managed to paint our hands, legs etc. Debs even managed to kneel in two small puddles and had lovely white knees.

Ed, Debs and Jack stayed on like troopers for a little while longer to finish their undercoating - job done!
