Hello GoodGymers! ð This week we headed to the Brixton Waterworks allotments to help Annick and Jean, and what a grow-ing success it was! ðą
𧰠The jobs: Half the team went on a mission to move every last manky carpet into the skip. ðŠĪ Then it was bag after bag of leaves, which we emptied into the skip too. We were skip-ping with joy! ð
Over on the other side, Adam and Jo were on manure duty: shovel, move, repeat, repeat, repeat. ðĐ Truly the unsung heroes of the day. Some might say they were full of it, but we mean that in the nicest way. ð
ð Sporting history was made: Ben and Rich invented a brand new wheelbarrow-based sport, and Ben is now the official world record holder! ð The Olympic committee has been notified. ð
ð Katie's verdict: "No one fell in the bath, so I'm taking that as a victory." We'll take it too, Katie. Great work, everyone! ð
Huge thanks to Ben, Michael, Katie, Jo, Adam and Rich for your hard graft, and to Annick and Jean for having us. The allotments are looking soil good! ðĨŽâĪïļ
See you at the next one! ðŠðž
The Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) were formed in 2003 with three aims: * to get the Grade II listed Brixton Windmill restored and opened for public visits â in 2002 it had been put on English Heritage's buildings at risk register; * to make Windmill Gardens park a more welcoming space for local people; * to have a new education centre at the windmill. Windmill Gardens gained a Green Flag Community Award in 2015 and we have just been judged again so our fingers are crossed that we will retain the award for the next two years.
