5 GoodGymers met in town on a surprisingly pleasant May evening and removed old plants from the towers by the bus station. Following weeks of no rain the soil was dried solid, but we found it quite therapeutic breaking it up over a good chinwag.
Before long the boxes were free from plants, weeds and litter, and full of soft soil ready for a team of volunteer gardeners to come in and plant up new flowers.
We will be repeating this task along the High Street on the 2nd June, ready for more new planting the following day. Sign up if you can help out as with 10 large boxes spread out it will be useful to have a big group!

6 of us met at the FoodBank and straight away got to work cleaning. We swept and mopped the large warehouse area, thanks to Jack finding a hidden mop and Nathan figuring out how the fancy one worked... The carpeted area was all vacuumed and surfaces cleaned.
It was great to meet Haidee and Jack for the first time and to catch up with Ray, Sheila and Nathan.
We left the FoodBank significantly cleaner than when we arrived, meaning their own staff and volunteers can focus on serving those is need in Colchester.

Ray Halls completed 25 good deeds with GoodGym.
Ray has already done 25 good deeds with GoodGym. Instead of doing anything else, they've used their run to go and help people that need their help; digging, lifting, scraping, clearing, planting and weeding. Stuff that makes this a better place to be.

6 GoodGymers plus Pam completed a day's work in one hour at the allotment. We pruned, strimmed, weeded, planted, munched, watered and more, very quickly leaving Colchester in Bloom's allotment in a much better shape.
With spring hitting, it is a busy time in the gardening world and so we will be back in two weeks to help out again.
Oh and the run title....I'm trying to get to grips with What Three Words to help new GoodGymers find us more easily, and this is the location of the shed at the allotment!

Great words, Louise. The photo of Ray could enter a portrait exhib, it's such a good colour and context shot!

4 GoodGymers met at the FoodBank and after a brief chat set to work cleaning it up. It was great to meet Sheila who left the carpeted area looking much cleaner and Nathan who made short work of the sweeping alongside Ray. Within an hour the whole massive warehouse had been swept and mopped and surfaces around the front of house area wiped down.
We will be back at the FoodBank on the first Tuesday of May so join us if you can!
