We haven't been to Senior's for a couple of months and it was good to be back ticking off the tasks that they're unable to do themselves - we're always happy to do what we can to make things a little easier for them.
The group tackled all those hills with ease and we were at Senior's before we knew it! Alice and Val guided us through the tasks for the evening and we set off in our little groups.
Marta had the task of carefully digging up the mint for Jenny and Lindsay to plant in pots for an upcoming plant sale.
Louise and Joseph tackled building the arch which had a suitably helpful set of instructions which more resembled a puzzle.
Oli went back and forth with the wheelbarrow filled with watering cans and buckets of water and also a full wheelbarrow of water with the end goal of filling the water butts.
Julian had the task of removing the sticky willy (also known by its proper name of cleavers) from around the garden. Many buckets were filled of the pesky weed.
After we ticked everything off it was time to head back to Glass Mill.

No, but I think I worked out the issue. Thanks Kim!

In an exact repeat of last weeks tasks except for the change in GoodGymer's as we had Marta, Julian and Steve back in the team, we headed up the hill to Florence Green.
The task was again to remove the weeds from between the hedges (that we planted!!) and leave anything that looked like a wildflower. And then bag up the weeds that couldn't fit in the compost bins.
It was amazing to see the difference that we have made. We have given the hedges the best chance of survival, eventually they'll be big enough to fend of those weeds themselves.
Next week we are heading to Ladywell Fields to shift some woodchip.
Wednesday 18th March

Ndubuisi Joseph Ebegbunae has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Ndubuisi is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

With the promise of lighter evenings, we gathered at Glass Mill with the slightest bit of lighter sky remaining. Not long until we won't need the lights and head torches and they can go away for another summer.
Welcome to Ndubuisi hope you enjoyed your first GoodGym ssssion and that we'll see you back at future sessions.
The task for the evening was to clear the weeds between the hedgerows at Florence Green. We planted these and then removed their protective casing and now we're making sure they're not overrun by weeds until they get big enough to stand their ground.
We've made good progress along the row and hopefully by the end of next group run we'll make it to the end!
