It was time to revisit The Albany and we were following in the footsteps of a group of corporate volunteers who had been helping in the garden during the day.
Our tasks for the eve were either litter picking or digging up the soil around the compost bay to make it more defined area and more level.
We quickly split into teams and once we had all our tools we set off to tackle our tasks for the evening.
There was a lot of shoveling happening around the compost bay and then wheeling the excess soil away. It wasn't long before the brickwork edges of the path were revealed. We're not sure when they were last seen but with GoodGym's help they're now on show.
The rest of the group did a thorough litter pick of the garden. As always, we found a random assortment of items including a glove, a saw, a blanket and plenty of cans and bottles.
Great work everyone!! Next week we are heading to Luxmore Garden to continue weeding the flower beds.

It's getting warmer, the evenings are light and that can only mean one thing in the GG Lewisham world - we're heading back to Luxmore Garden to keep the flower beds free of weeds!
It's an uphill run there but that does mean downhill on the way back and it is one of our shorter runs. You all handled the hill excellently!!
Our task at Luxmore was pretty simple, remove the weeds to keep the flower beds looking neat and tidy and to give the plants space to grow. The challenging part was identifying what was a weed as we didn't want a repeat of when we accidentally removed some ornamental grass...
It wasn't long because it was job done and time to head back to Glass Mill. Great work team!!

We haven't been to Senior's for a couple of months and it was good to be back ticking off the tasks that they're unable to do themselves - we're always happy to do what we can to make things a little easier for them.
The group tackled all those hills with ease and we were at Senior's before we knew it! Alice and Val guided us through the tasks for the evening and we set off in our little groups.
Marta had the task of carefully digging up the mint for Jenny and Lindsay to plant in pots for an upcoming plant sale.
Louise and Joseph tackled building the arch which had a suitably helpful set of instructions which more resembled a puzzle.
Oli went back and forth with the wheelbarrow filled with watering cans and buckets of water and also a full wheelbarrow of water with the end goal of filling the water butts.
Julian had the task of removing the sticky willy (also known by its proper name of cleavers) from around the garden. Many buckets were filled of the pesky weed.
After we ticked everything off it was time to head back to Glass Mill.
