A final visit to Cwtch Together before they stop for a while, as the children are back in school in two weeks time. So a final tidy up of the outside space and some help to tidy up the hall after the play.
It certainly had been used today and needed a few extra hand to help out, luckily that's where we come in (quite literally with some members and the ball pit)
The time flew by as we all had (maybe) too much fun, but it looked spick and span and energised us ready for our run back. A lovely Tuesday to have one last session outside with our lovely Cwtch group, I'm sure we will find a reason to come back and help again before the year is out.
Join us next week as we make a visit for the second time to St. Dyfrig and St Samson Church in Grangetown

14 goodgymers got together for another Tuesday Volunteer task.
A short run in the rain tonight, as we made our way back to Samye. A mixture of tasks outside and in, but at least the outside was under cover still. Upon arrival we made our way straight in for some water and to warm up, as usual the wonderful Lorraine had made us a list to make our way through as best we could.
It was great to catch up with everyone, even in the rain and the work we completed was worth every damp moment. Plus we had some food and a lovely chance to chat after the task, and before our travel back.

Another scorcher of a day, but as usual goodgym will not be put off. A new group tonight to help, and hopefully the first of many a visit as we discovered that they have another couple of plots that we can help at.
The task to help remove the overgrown weeds and tidy up the plot at the back of the church, creating a space for parking for the members of the congregation with mobility issues so that they can be close to the back entrance.
Not a long run, but in this heat any run was more than enough! Spurred on with the promise of an ice lolly the group didn't stop, not until the after shot for photos was up to the Cardiff standard.

The weather was very different tonight, but with it still being so muggy (good word) the little rain that we got was very much welcomed.
Tonight, the Women of Cardiff goodgym took to the streets to help out the 'Forget-Me-Not' group with their raised beds.
The beds are used by the group and the local community and the task at hand;
We all already know my feelings about the term weed, but he ho lets go........As the wonderful Björk said:
It's wet in the middle
With a shell around it
It's called "life"
It goes wherever it wants to
Don't try to predict it
Then you'd offend it
It's meant to surprise
We worked hard, and it could clearly be seen at the end of our 30 minutes volunteering. A few of us also got the gift of forget-me-not plants to take home. Mine have already been planted and hopefully have survived the run home.
We will return to help again soon, the time of the buddleja is getting close - our annual cut back of what is now a skyscraper of a plant.
