Last night GoodGym Bromley went door-to-door flyering for the fantastic local charity Bromley Borough Foodbank (BBF).
BBF has recently signed up to a number of Run for Charity and Ultra Challenge events, giving people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to turn their miles into meaning.
Now they're calling on residents to take part in a 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon or epic 100K ultra endurance challenge to raise funds and awareness for their cause.
Sign up via BBF's Run for Charity links here to get a discounted entry price.
Special thanks to Ray at BBF for pulling everything together and GoodGym Bromley regular Mairi for putting up with a somewhat poorly Area Activator (still reeling from completing the Berlin Marathon on Sunday).
Next week we're heading directly to Norman Park to give everyone the option to walk or run before mixing in with watering the micro-forest near Hook Farm Road Car Park.
Sign up here.

Last night we gave Bromley's Church House Gardens a quick tidy while Kerry from the Friends of group dug out some invasive plants.
I was delighted to see so many turn out, our strongest showing since relaunching in August, and especially grateful for Rose setting the pace on our 2K running loop to kick off the evening.
Special mention to first timers Vinesh, Marina and Paige. Also Sarah for taking the initiative to lead our walking group to the task.
I hope you'll all be able to join us again later this month.
Next up on Monday 21st we're flyering for Library of Things. LoT run a network of lockers stocked with useful tools like drills and carpet cleaners to help ease the cost of living in our community.
More hands make light work. Runners + Walkers welcome. You can sign up HERE.
Have a great rest of your week.

Last night we welcomed some familiar faces and returning heroes as we joined forces with volunteers in Bromley Palace Park.
After a steady 2K run around the houses, we rocked up to the park to help ferry wood chip back and forth, lining the path circling the moat before rainy season arrives.
Recycled from an expired tree on the park's grounds, the wood chip should stop the path turning into a muddy slip and slide over the autumn.
Special mention to mother and daughter duo Sarah and Liliane for getting their first Group Run under their belts, and GoodGym regular Laura for joining her first session since we reformed.
You can sign up to our next sessions here:

Hope to have you all back.

Mairi Wightman completed their first run in a new area.
Curious? Mairi has just run their first session in another area. For that explorative spirit Mairi is awarded the scout badge. A Scout is trustworthy

On Monday night we headed to the thoroughly parched micro forest in Norman Park for a double dip of cardio and botany.
Teaming up with James and Alex from the Friends of Norman Park, we used the on-site water butt and cans to revive young saplings while learning how the forest is designed to become self-sufficient.
The trees were planted close together following the Miyawaki method, named after Japanese botanist Dr Akira Miyawaki. Because it is so crowded, the young trees are supposed to race upward for sunlight rather than growing wide, leading to growth rates 10x faster than standard planting.
After watering and weeding for the first two to three years, the micro forest is meant to become entirely self-sufficient – but given our boiling hot summer they need our help to survive.
We'll be back in September for more watering and weeding.
Special mention this week to long-time GoodGymer, first time Group Runner Mairi.
Next Monday it's the turn of Church House Gardens, then back to Bromley Palace Park on the 31st.
