We were greeted by our host Jo who had a colour coded list of tasks for us to tick off. She told us of the Brighton and Hove Food Partnership's work in reducing food waste and running cooking courses, and much more!
We soon warmed up as we speedily started cleaning chairs and cupboards. Being great multi taskers we all had a good catchup while cleaning!
Rebecca and Ben took one for the team and braved the cold by cleaning outside. While other organised GoodGym-ers sorted pans back into their families!
It was lovely to see the GoodGym gang and a good start to the year!
Do you know that....
As GoodGym volunteer we could attend a 6-week cookery course at the B&H Community Kitchen by accompanying people they support, as referred by TogetherCo. This is an exemplar GoodGym’s mission that could help isolated people to build up routine and feelings of confidence.
For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask our GoodGym Area Lead, Stefania.

This week we ran to Hanover and Elm Grove to help keep the streets clean ✨️ Weeding and painting were the order of the day, with the team splitting up to conquer multiple tasks.
Jane and Georgia got to work clearing the pavement alongside a church, while Stefania and Ben tackled the ever prolific bindweed in the flower beds. Meanwhile, Juliet and Sarah got to work painting over graffiti tags, Sarah having made the smart move of wearing her painting clothes. Some of us had less foresight, and now have fun new patterns on our trainers... 🙄
After reconvening (with a little help from Michael who managed to join us post commute) we headed to The Level for a fun speed workout! We worked on accelerating the pace and building endurance by running progressively faster laps with no breaks 💪 We also plotted the GG Brighton Christmas Party, and learned the importance of standing on one leg while we brush our teeth 😁
Thanks everyone for a great session, and look forward to seeing you next time.

Georgia Stephens earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Georgia completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Georgia was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
