Ashton Martin completed their first run in a new area.
Curious? Ashton has just run their first session in another area. For that explorative spirit Ashton is awarded the scout badge. A Scout is trustworthy

That's the thing with ivy- it creeps up on you 🫣 And before you know it, you need GoodGym to come and see it, say it, sort it.
For our first group run of 2025 we discussed our new years ressies before running the 1.3km to the church, Jackie meeting us there having looked like she was breaking into the church a bit further up the road😁 Great to have you back with us Jackie and extra kudos for coming and doing a good deed so that all those miles you're clocking for Ironman count for the Jan Challenge! Amazing.
We enjoyed a productive half hour at the Village Church pulling up and lopping down as much ivy as we could get into the bin bags. Ashton was definitely man of the hour, providing milk chocolate hobnobs (hands down the best biscuit ever invented.)
Next Wednesday we're back at Prince Philip Collections Centre
This weekend we've got the usual parkruns, Conservation at Oxleas, Maintenance at Westcombe Woodlands and Clean up Charlton .
Lots to keep us busy over January!
Until next time,
Rachel

Ashton Martin earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Ashton completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Ashton was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Bexley Report written by Marianna Chernobrivenko
In just one hour, the GoodGym Bexley team made a huge difference to the area by Co-op Blackfen! Armed with litter pickers, bin bags, and plenty of enthusiasm, we got stuck in—and wow, did we find some surprises.
Among the usual rubbish, we picked up:
👞 A pair of shoes – someone must have walked home barefoot!
🍳 A frying pan – maybe breakfast on the go?
☕ A coffee machine – a bit big for a takeaway coffee!
🌂 Umbrellas – useful, but not when left in the street.
🚗 An exhaust pipe – not something you expect to find while litter picking!
By the end of the session, the whole area looked so much tidier. Hopefully, now it’s clean, people will think twice before dropping more rubbish!
A big thank you to everyone who helped – you’re all brilliant. And most importantly…
Happy 8th Birthday, GoodGym Bexley! Here’s to another year of getting active, doing good, and making a difference. Thank you Sidcup Partners for the delicious cake, and Rooted Coffee House in Blackfen Community Library for hosting our celebrations.
