We spent a sunny late summer evening snipping down sycamore saplings to stop them from self-seeding all over Iffley Glebe, carefully pulling ivy and other unwelcome green guests off the ancient stone wall around the meadow, and clipping large amounts of bramble, nettle and hawthorn which were encroaching on the entrance to the storage garage.
It's always a joy to be up in Iffley in the summer, with it's village vibe and feel of having stepped back in time for a little while.
Congratulations on reaching the 100 Good Deed milestone Kieran.
Happy 10th Good Deed Freya.

The vast number of photos of our river litter pick in collaboration with Falcon boat club and Isis Canoe Club tell the story of our Saturday task better than any written words. Fabulous sunshine, friendly faces; the perfect day to spend a couple of hours on the water and along the river bank. We cleared a huge haul of detritus from in and around the river and had fun in the sun.
Great to see you at your 1st GG task Ian, and nice to meet you Louise!
Saturday 3rd June
Amy Holguin cheered by other people 25 times.
Amy is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Amy has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.

South Oxford Community Centre is a new task location for us. We're always happy to help Oxford's community centres, so when we received the call for help in their courtyard garden we accepted the task straight away.
We started our session with a topical ice-breaker question: "what do you wish AI would/could do for you?" Answers ranged from the altruistic (solve the global climate crisis) to inspired (call customer services lines for you). Then on to the task...
Despite the bulk bags of compost not arriving we had plenty to do - we did lots of weeding the edges of the courtyard, pots, planters, and the long border. We then topped up the compost from some smaller sacks, watered, and topped off with shredded bark. Meanwhile Ben and Trev built a compost bay, and a few of us moved the picnic benches so that they could be used more easily.
We were grateful for cold drinks and chocolate biscuits as refreshments, and had a lovely run along the river before and after.
We'll be back in a few weeks to finish the job once the elusive compost arrives!

7 good-gymers ended their Monday on a high with a walk over to Shotover Country Park.
With a route pre-set by Rachael, all that was left to do was have fun!
We found plenty of items for nature bingo; including puff-ball mushrooms (that were close but not quite ready to puff!). Fungus McGhee Matty (resident expert) suggested they only had a few days left before they were ready to burst - so anyone who might fancy a trip from today onwards; you should be in luck!
Some very kind passers-by could spot us struggling to take a selfie a mile off, and very kindly papp’d us while up on Shotover hill; sadly it was too cloudy for a glorious sunset, but never the less, a beautiful view.
With plenty of elevations and a few map dilemmas, we walked and talked for nearly 1.5hrs, working up quite the post ramble rumbles. Louise was off to peruse the centre isle at ALDI, while Vicky had worked up an appetite for another run. Amy H continued on home and the rest of us enjoyed a Curry in Headington. With insight from Amy W and Matty we settled on ABC; which was a great shout. The food was delightful, it was great value, and we learnt all about Meysam’s new hobby; if you want to know more you’ll have to ring him up and ask him!
Such a lovely evening Gang; lets do it again soon!
